Where's Torringi?

Tuolin Temple is located at the west foot of Lushan Mountain in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, with a distance of 16 km in the north and 50 km in the east from Guling Street in Lushan Mountain.

Tuolin Temple, built in the 9th year of Dayuan in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (384), is one of the temples with a long history on Lushan Mountain. Tolin Temple is the birthplace of Pure Land Sect of Buddhism (also known as Lotus Sect), and it is also regarded as the ancestral home by Pure Land Sect of Japanese Buddhism and Pure Land True Sect.

1983 was listed by the State Council as the key Buddhist temple in the Han nationality area, the national famous Buddhist Dojo and one of the three international exchange Dojo in Jiangxi province.

There are many cultural relics in the temple, such as the classic building of Toronyi in the Tang Dynasty (AD 683), which is the oldest stone carving in Toringi; Translation desk-the place where Yuan Gong invited western classics to Tolin Temple to translate them in tin; Liu Gongquan's remains; Kang Youwei wrote an inscription; Preface to Li Yong's Torin Temple Monument. Tolin Temple has frequent contacts with Japan, Singapore, the United States, Canada, Malaysia and other countries as well as the Buddhist circles in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. It has built a golden bridge for foreign exchange through pure sectarian culture and communicated the links between different countries, regions and nationalities.

Jin built the manna altar, which continued the wisdom of Buddhism and spread Buddhism, and became an important Buddhist altar in China. Precious cultural relics such as Toronyi classic buildings, stone carvings to protect the god Lux and Liu Gongquan tablet carved in the Tang Dynasty have been preserved to this day.

In the ninth year of Tianbao, before his sixth eastward voyage, Master Jian Zhen came to Lindong to worship, spread the teachings of Pure Land Sect to Japan, and made important contributions to the friendly exchanges between the Chinese and Japanese peoples. Japan's Pure Land Sect and China's Pure Land Sect come down in one continuous line, and specially set up the "Praise Meeting of Master Hui Yuan of Lushan Mountain in Japan", and regularly came to the temple to worship Li Zu.
