Evolution of organizational system in Hanting District

Hanting District, formerly known as wei county, was named after Weihe River. The name of Wei County began in 1377 (the tenth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty), and was revoked in September 1983 to establish Hanting District, which lasted for 606 years.

The historical records of the territory of Wei County can be traced back to the Xia Dynasty. Beiqi changed Beihai County to Levin County, which administered Mi (now Qianjijia Village in Hetan Town, that is, Xiamijijia). Wei county has three counties: Gaomi, Shouping and Jiaodong.

During the Sui Dynasty, Beihai County was still in Di Wei, and there were two counties, Beihai County and Xiami County. Weishui County (formerly Jiaodong County) was later established. Weishui was first named as the administrative region.

In the early Ming Dynasty, Beihai County was abolished and directly under Qingzhou Prefecture. According to "History and Geography of Ming Dynasty", "Hongwu of Ming Dynasty belonged to Laizhou Prefecture in the 9th year (1376) and fell to Weizhou County in the 10th year (1377)." The Qing Dynasty was similar to the Ming Dynasty, with provinces, prefectures and counties. Since then, there have been some changes: Dongzhuang Township was renamed Hetan Town, Lituan Township was renamed Zhangshi Town, and Guojiaguanzhuang Township was renamed Guojiaguanzhuang Town; Xiaojiaying Township was revoked; Hanting Town was renamed Hanting Street, which merged Guojia Guanzhuang Town and Zhangshi Town to form Kaiyuan Street.

In July 2007, Guti Town and Bozi Township merged to form Guti Street, and Yangzi Town was renamed Yangzi Street. Shuangyangdian Town and Sun Nan Township merged into Gaoli Town, Hetan Town and Julie Town. In addition, Hanting Economic and Technological Development Zone and Marine Chemical Development Zone have been established. At that time, Hanting District governed 4 streets and 2 towns.

In March, 2008, Weifang Municipal People's Government decided to put Yangzi Street (including Marine Chemical Development Zone) in Hanting District under the management of Weifang Binhai Economic Development Zone. Weifang Economic Development Zone is under the management of Hanting District.

On May 20 10, Hanting District abolished Gaoli Town and Julie Town, and established Gaoli Sub-district Office and Julie Sub-district Office respectively. At this point, the pattern of two development zones and six streets under the jurisdiction of Hanting District has been formed.
