Hui 'an Stone Carving Art Festival

Huian is located in Quanzhou, which is known as "the cultural capital of East Asia". Hui 'an stone carving is an indispensable part of China's splendid culture. People here have created a resounding cultural brand "Hui 'an Stone Carving" with a pair of industrious and intelligent hands. Hui 'an stone carving is world-famous and has been included in the first batch of "Intangible Cultural Heritage List". In order to further develop and inherit Hui 'an stone carving, Hui 'an has held six sessions of "China Sculpture Art Festival and Sculpture Competition" and six sessions of "China Hui 'an Traditional Sculpture Competition" since 2000, which has promoted the rapid development of Hui 'an sculpture industry. On 201510 June 17, the World Handicraft Council officially awarded Hui 'an the "Stone Carving Capital of the World".

Session 1: "Past, Present and Future"

The first China (Hui 'an) Sculpture Art Festival and Traditional Stone and Wood Sculpture Competition with the theme of "Past, Present and Future" was held from August 25th to September 6th, 2000. This art festival consists of three parts: Sculpture Grand Prix, China Sculpture Forum and Contemporary China Sculptors Exhibition. Artists from 27 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions and more than 99 contestants from Australia, Germany, Switzerland and Poland participated in the competition. Wang Hanbin, former alternate member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and former vice chairman of the National People's Congress, presented the award to Zhang Yongjian, the first prize winner of the stone carving competition, and 36 contestants won the first, second and third prizes in the wood carving and stone carving competitions respectively.

Scene 2: "Traditional Spirit and Modern Experiment"

Held from August 2 1 day to September 1 day, 2002, more than 300 contestants from 26 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and abroad signed up for the competition. After strict screening, a total of 100 contestants from six countries including Belgium, Japan, Sweden, Spain, Germany and Finland and 19 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions were selected for the contest. The theme of this festival is "Traditional Spirit and Modern Experiment", and its main contents include the 2nd China Sculpture Art Festival and Huiquan Cup Sculpture Art Grand Prix, the exhibition of famous sculptors' works, and the 3rd Fujian "Yan Zhengbei" Bluestone Sculpture Competition. In view of the high academic taste and great influence of China Sculpture Art Festival in China, the 8th China Sculpture Forum was held at the same time as this Art Festival.

Scene 3: "Nature and Art"

Held from August 16 to September 1 day, 2004, with the theme of "Nature and Art", more than 400 artists from 26 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China signed up and submitted more than 600 works. After strict screening by relevant experts, there are 2 1 provinces, cities and autonomous regions, as well as the United States and Britain. In this contest, 5 second prize works and 3 third prize works 12 were finally awarded (the first prize was vacant). There are two main contents in this sculpture art festival: one is to hold the "Xiang Hao Cup" stone carving grand prix with the theme of "Nature and Art"; The second is to hold the annual sculpture forum with the theme of "architecture and sculpture".

Scene 4: "Life and Art"

The 4th China Sculpture Art Festival and the "Hui 'an Cup" International Stone and Wood Sculpture Competition were held from August 20th to September 3rd, 2006 in two main venues, Hui 'anxia and Luoyang, and more than a dozen sub-venues in Chongwu, Tuzhai and Luocheng. This year's Art Festival selected 65 sculpture schemes from 4 13 schemes submitted by universities and sculpture enterprises in 30 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and Hong Kong, including 46 stone carvings and 0/9 wood carvings. The selected artists come from 19 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, and artists from Korea, Russia and the United States have returned to China to participate in the competition. At the same time, the contest also invited 10 senior domestic sculptors and 15 foreign artists from the United States, Britain, France, South Korea, Russia, Czech Republic, Italy, Armenia, Kenya, Croatia and Bangladesh to perform live performances. Among them, artists from Africa appeared for the first time. With the help of Huian sculpture enterprises and skilled workers, 90 artists from all over the world created 90 masterpieces. The work closely follows the theme of the contest "Life and Art". A total of 12 works won the first, second and third prizes of stone carving and wood carving respectively.

The fifth session: "Hui Feng Hui Feng"

The 5th China (Hui 'an) Sculpture Art Festival and "Rey Cup" Stone Carving Grand Prix was held in Rey Stone Exhibition Hall in Hui 'an from June 5th to February 9th, 2009. With the theme of "Hui Feng Hui Feng", this competition adopts the competition form of centralized creation and centralized award, and collects design schemes for the whole world. Instead of inviting foreign players to create performances on the spot, this activity directly invited them to participate in the competition, which attracted the enthusiastic participation of 286 artists from home and abroad and received more than 500 entries from 48 countries and regions. Among them, overseas 135 people submitted more than 200 works, which was the highest in previous activities. After strict selection by experts, 37 works were finally shortlisted, including foreign works 10, 3 works from Hong Kong and Taiwan, and 24 works from China (including 7 works from Hui 'an). Finally, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 4 third prizes were awarded.

Scene 6: "Sea breeze and stone talk"

20111654381On the morning of 9 October, the 6th China (Hui 'an) Sculpture Art Festival ended successfully. Mr. Film, a player from Italy, won the title of this sculpture contest with his carefully drawn work "Mermaid". A total of first prize works 1 piece, 3 second prize works and 6 third prize works were selected in this stone carving grand prix. At the closing ceremony, a grand ceremony of "learning from the teacher" was held, and six disciples made a gift of learning from the ancient system. In addition, 23 stone carving masters were awarded the title of "Carving Family". Different from previous years, this competition with the theme of "Sea breeze and stone talk" is more international. The contest received nearly 600 entries from more than 40 countries and regions at home and abroad, and finally selected 50 finalists. Among them, 15 foreign artists come from Italy, the United States, Georgia and other countries and regions, and most of them are coming to Hui 'an for the first time to participate in the sculpture festival.
