Date of sacrifice:

After the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, with the scale and institutionalization of the imperial examination system, the worship of emperor Wenchang became more and more common. Wenchang Palace, Wenchang Pavilion or Wenchang Temple are built all over the country, among which Wenchang Palace in Qiqu Mountain, Zitong County, Sichuan Province is the largest. Some rural academies and private schools also offer sacrifices to Wenchang gods or deities. Although there are ups and downs in the meantime, I have been dedicated to them because of articles and high and low. In the old society, the third day of February was the birthday of Emperor Wenchang, and the government and local scholars would go to the temple dedicated to Emperor Wenchang to worship, or write poems and hold Wenchang meetings.

Sacrificial mode:

If the child is naughty and his grades are not satisfactory, he can also sacrifice to Emperor Wenchang. The life of Emperor Wenchang;

Wenchang was the emperor of Yuan Renzong, also called Zitong Emperor. Yuan Renzong extended your life for three years (13 16), and Zitong God was named "Fuyuan Wenchang Dilu". Zitong God and Wenchang God are one god. The Book of Rites of the Ming Dynasty said: "Zitong Emperor, surnamed Zhang, was named Yazi, who lived in Qiqu Mountain in the middle of Shu. The Jin Dynasty died as an official, so he built a temple to worship it." Zhang Yazi is a native of Sichuan. In the second year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (374), he claimed to be the King of Shu and died in the uprising against Fu Jian in the former Qin Dynasty. In memory of yu zhang, later generations built a temple in Qiqu Mountain in Zitong County, honoring him as the Razer Dragon King. After yu zhang Temple in the same mountain and Zitong Shenyazi Temple were called together, yu zhang was called Zhangyazi.

When Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty entered Shu, he passed by Qiqu Mountain. Being impressed by Zhang Yazi's heroism, he made him the left prime minister and offered sacrifices. When Tang Xizong fled the chaos and entered Shu, he personally worshipped Zitong God through Qiqu Mountain, named Zhang Yazi King of Jishun, and personally took off his sword to worship God. There were many emperors in the Song Dynasty. For example, Song Zhenzong made Yazi King Wu Lie of Yingxian, Song Guangzong King Wu Xiaode of Wen Ren and Song Lizong King Xiao De of Wu Wensheng. Yuan Renzong extended your life for three years (13 16), and Zhang Yazi was appointed as the emperor of Lu Si Hongren in Wenchang, Hua Kai. Therefore, Zitong God Zhang Yazi is called Wenchang Emperor.
