Where is Guo 'en Temple?

Guo 'en Temple is located in Jiji Town, Xinxing County, Yunfu City, Guangdong Province. It is the birthplace and death place of Master Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Zen Buddhism in China and one of the famous Buddhist monks in China history. Together with Guangxiao Temple in Guangzhou and Nanhua Temple in Shaoguan, it is also known as the Three Ancestral Halls of Six Ancestors and is known as the "First Sanctuary in Lingnan" of Buddhism. Guo 'en Temple, formerly known as Hongzhi Temple, was built by Master Huineng in the first year of Hongdao in Tang Gaozong (683). In 706, the second year of Tang Zhongzong Shenlong, the emperor named it "Guo 'en Temple", and the plaque in front of the mountain gate was written by Tianhou. Because it is backed by the beautiful Longshan Mountain, it is also called "Longshan Temple". The main body of Guo 'en Temple is a platform composed of three-level horizontal rectangular boulders in Douji, which increases in turn according to the mountain situation. It is divided into three parts: King Kong Hall, Ursa Major Hall and Six Ancestors Hall. There are also many Buddhist temples and meditation rooms in the two corridors, such as Fa Hui, Earth Treasure King, Mulian, Manjusri and Pu Xian. There are buildings such as Kannonji and Gratitude Pagoda beside the temple. The courtyard is exquisite and rigorous, with spectacular layout, with a total construction area of over 9,200 square meters. In the garden of Guo 'en Temple, there are still relics of Master Huineng before his death, such as the place where the Sixth Ancestor bathed himself, the Formosa he planted and a well he opened himself. In 2006, some precious Buddhist relics, such as Buddhist relics, were found in the site of the underground palace of Baoenta in Guo 'en Temple. The relic is now enshrined in the relic hall for visitors and believers to see. Huineng, the sixth ancestor, is a thousand-year-old temple of Guo 'en Temple and an important Zen town.
