Xuanmiao Temple is located in Guanqian Street, the most prosperous place in the center of the ancient city. Naturally, its name is behind the street, which is named after the mysterious temple-Guanqian Street has the mysterious temple of Guanqian Street. Xuanmiao Temple is a famous Taoist place in the south of the Yangtze River. It was founded in the Western Jin Dynasty and has a history of 1700 years. At that time, it was called Zhenqing Daoyuan, but it was changed to Tianqing Temple in the Tang Dynasty, until the Yuan Dynasty took a word "mysterious" from the Tao Te Ching and renamed it "mysterious view". In Qing Dynasty, in order to avoid offending Emperor Kangxi, the name "Xuan" was changed to "Yuan", and the name of "Xuanmiaoguan" was restored after the Republic of China. The entire Sanqing Hall is a wooden structure, which was rebuilt in the Southern Song Dynasty. The statues of Sanqing (Shangqing, Yuqing and Taiqing) enshrined in the temple are as high as 17 meters, which is a masterpiece of sculpture in the Song Dynasty. After the rise and fall of several generations, the sculptures in Sanqing Hall are basically the same, which is the testimony of thousands of years of history. Three gold-plated statues of clay are kind-hearted and majestic, with the original Buddha in the center and Lingbao Buddha and moral Buddha on both sides, commonly known as Sanqing, among which the moral Buddha is also called the old gentleman on the throne, and it is said that it is Old Gigi Lai II.

Now the Sanqing Hall of Xuanmiao Temple was rebuilt in the Southern Song Dynasty. The mountain gate is majestic and towering, and there are a pair of brick carving faucets at both ends of the roof. This house is magnificent. The red painted lintel is simple and dignified, 30 meters high, with a building area of 1 100 square meters, almost square. The beams and columns in the hall are all single logs, and the statues stand around the hall in different shapes. It is really magnificent, tall and solemn, and its momentum can be comparable to that of the Taihe Hall in the Forbidden City in Beijing and Dacheng Hall in the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong, but these two buildings are far away from the Southern Song Dynasty, and the Sanqing Hall is really a national treasure.

There are three gods in the middle of Sanqing Hall and four gods on both sides, which are magnificent in shape. There are 60 statues of stars in the hall, with vivid shapes and different expressions, and there is a feeling of being ready to answer. According to heavenly stems and earthly branches's order, they are the 60-star gods of Taoist belief, that is, the 60 gods on duty every day. The names of these gods are heavenly stems and earthly branches's collocation, and there are twelve zodiac signs every year. Twelve years is a cycle, and five cycles are a cycle of sixty years. There is a stone statue of Laozi in the hall, which looks fantastic, detached and refined, wears loose and elegant clothes and has bold lines. This statue was carved by Wu Daozi in Tang Dynasty, praised by Xuanzong in Tang Dynasty and carved by Zhang Suo, a stone carver in Song Dynasty. It is the treasure of the town house, and there are some inscriptions since the Tang and Song Dynasties. The whole hall is complete in structure, tall and spacious, and the beams and arches are single logs and sculptures.

In the early days, the mysterious temple was the place with the highest incense. Because of its long history, it was built in the Western Jin Dynasty when Buddhism was not prosperous, and its architecture and scale were the largest at that time. There are 24 annex halls and annex halls around the main hall, which become a very spectacular building complex. Now, in addition to the main hall, the surrounding stone fence is still the same, the ground is green slate, and there are several cypresses beside the hall. There are Wenchang Hall and Guanyin Hall in the east and the Temple of Wealth in the west. Other historical sites include the mountain gate tablet inscribed by Zhao when the Xuanmiao Temple was rebuilt, the temple left without words, the hexagonal pavilion in front of the temple, the Miaohe plaque, the immortal and many other places. After transformation, the square in front of the temple is open, and a bronze statue stands in the middle of the mountain. During the restoration, an ancient well of the Five Dynasties was found at the entrance to the front of the temple. It is said that it was used by ancient Taoist priests to get water for alchemy. Its location coincides with the main hall, which is yin and yang, and the water quality is still clear.

The mysterious temple has always been a bustling place. There is a local saying "White-faced Mysterious Temple", which means that you must go to the Mysterious Temple to watch the excitement when you go to Suzhou. It can be as famous as the "City God Temple" in Shanghai and the "Confucius Temple" in Nanjing. Since ancient times, merchants have gathered, and folk artists from all over the world have set up stalls to sell acrobatic performances, national handicrafts and traditional cultural goods. There are many kinds of famous local snacks that can be tasted all over the world. There are also calligraphy and painting couplets, flowers and seedlings, fish and insects, and charlatans, all of which will gather here. If it is a holiday, it will become a special New Year picture market, with kitchen gods, door gods, longevity pictures, pictures of sending children, prints of three friends of Lao Leng, Five Blessingg of Mei Kai and Taohuawu, as well as more snacks and food, which is totally a grocery store exhibition in department stores. Suzhou Xuanmiao Temple is one of the oldest and largest Taoist temples in China, and it is the main activity place of Taoism in past dynasties. Many Taoist cultural exchange activities are mostly held at this time. There are a large number of classic works such as Tao Te Ching, South China True Scripture, Huang Ting Ching, Tibetan Taoist Scripture, all of which are thread-bound books with rich cultural connotations, as well as Taoist musical instruments, utensils and other missionary supplies. As a place for Taoist self-cultivation, you can hear chanting classes sooner or later. Now a branch of Taoist College has been opened to promote and inherit the popularization and development of Taoist culture.

The founder of Taoism is Laozi, and The Tao Te Ching is the treasure of his theory. The core of Taoist thought is Tao, which is regarded as the origin of the universe and the law of all movements in the universe. Everything starts from nature, returns to nature and conforms to the laws of nature. Zhuangzi and his descendants carried forward Laozi's theory, interpreted all things in nature, human wisdom and the way of life from a philosophical point of view, and created the theory of Taoist philosophy. In fact, "Tao" and "Tao" are different and cannot be equated. Taoism is a school of philosophical thought initiated by Laozi and Zhuangzi. Taking Tao Te Ching as the classic theory, it expounds the fusion relationship between man and nature and belongs to the category of human natural philosophy.

Although Taoism takes Laozi as its leader, the two cannot be confused, nor can it be said that Taoist theory is Taoist thought. Taoist classics include Huang Tingjing, Bao Puzi and South China Zhen Jing. Taoism exists as a form of religion and organization. It deifies Taoist figures, has its immortal worship and belief, develops believers and organizations, and holds a series of religious ceremonies and activities. The title now is ". Some of these people engage in religious superstitious activities and even deviate from Taoist thought. Those fortune tellers, magicians and fortune tellers are basically such people. Taoism, as one of the three religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, naturally has a profound cultural origin and constitutes Taoist culture. Now it is divided into four academic systems: Taoism, theology, immortality and religion. Taoism is the essence of China culture. As a Taoist resort of the Chinese nation, the mysterious temple is an important exchange place for carrying forward and inheriting Taoist thoughts. I hope those Taoist scholars will educate the public with correct Taoist ideas and don't take that kind of side door.
