Protection and Restoration of Jieyang Hong Ting

The ring road was built in 1937. Although the city wall was destroyed, the remaining buildings were specially preserved. After liberation, the county government allocated funds to repair and restore the original appearance. The repaired tower is 20m high, 0m wide19m, and the urn door is 8m deep.

1985, a pair of stone lions are placed in front of the tower, surrounded by flower beds, and there are sculptures and spray lotus flowers nearby, which complement the antique tower. In recent years, the government funded its renovation and planted flowers and trees, which made the ancient "Jiao Xiao" scene reappear and became a good place for citizens to ask about the past and have a rest. Jieyang poet Bei Wenxi has a poem dedicated to praising the sages. The poem says: Carving a beam and painting an ancient city building has gone through hundreds of years of vicissitudes. Dress up in a new posture to welcome the prosperous times, and the lotus leaves the water more peacefully.

1992, Jinxianmen was announced by Jieyang municipal government as a municipal cultural relics protection unit. However, hundreds of years of wind and rain erosion have gradually lost the elegance of this ancient city. Ant damage, wind disaster and long-term motor vehicle vibration have caused the tenon and corner column of the tower beam to rot, the doors and windows to break, the paint to fall off, and the internal and external appearance to be seriously damaged. Appraised by the Municipal Housing Authority, Jinxianmen has become a dangerous building and is in danger of collapse at any time. Just after the Spring Festival this year, the renovation of Jinxianmen began in an all-round way. Lin Wuyuan, director of Jieyang Museum in charge of this renovation, told the reporter: "This is the largest renovation of Jinxian Gate in Jieyang history, and the city has specially allocated more than 700,000 yuan for this purpose."

At the end of 2005, under the great attention of the leaders of the municipal party committee and municipal government, Jieyang Cultural Relics Department specially set up a leading group, invited relevant experts in the province to conduct on-the-spot investigation and study, formulated a rescue maintenance plan, and decided to carry out a major renovation of Jinxianmen Building, with an estimated investment of 780,000 yuan to restore its quaint and elegant style.

The principle of this transformation is "repair the old as the old". For incomplete parts, they can be supplemented, reinforced and not replaced at will. If necessary, its size, shape, texture, etc. should be processed and copied as it is. Large wooden components that can no longer be used due to serious decay must be identified and approved by the cultural relics department before they can be replaced according to the original system to maintain the original appearance of the building. To this end, before the start of construction, the relevant departments have carefully recorded the whole building by video recording, photographing, drawing and writing, and strictly followed this construction.

The woodcarving lotus hanging in the corner is one of the details and essence of the tower building. After hundreds of years of wind and rain, the original exquisite and realistic upside-down lotus flowers, some petals are broken, and some pigments burst. In order to restore these lotus flowers to their original appearance, craftsmen polished, carved, nailed and painted them one by one, and finally let the lotus flowers that had withered for hundreds of years bloom again.

In order to maintain the original appearance of the whole building to the greatest extent, the method of "uncovering the roof and falling the frame" was adopted in the repair, that is, all the tile tops of the roof were uncovered, the roof was erected with a jack, the rotten corner columns and beams below were replaced, and then the roof was lowered and covered with gray tiles and green glazed tile pipes.

Lin Wuyuan, director of Jieyang Museum, who is in charge of the renovation project of Jinxianmen, told the reporter that the renovation scale of Jinxianmen Tower is quite large, and some wooden structures on the tower and the pavilion roof will be passively "operated", which is the "falling roof" in the language of ancient building restoration. However, the whole maintenance process will be carried out in strict accordance with the principle of "repairing the old as before and preserving the truth". In order to ensure that the architectural style, technology, structural characteristics and material texture of the whole tower are consistent with the original appearance, some incomplete and loose components can be repaired and strengthened without being replaced at will, so as to save money, preserve more original components and maintain the original historical and artistic value of the building. The renovation will also dismantle the flower island and fountain built in front of the tower, rearrange the greening of Little Square in front of the city gate, and arrange the lights to make it more harmonious and beautiful. In addition, in order to attach importance to the unique style of "Bridge Building Jiao Xiao", relevant leaders and experts are currently studying and discussing setting a drum or auspicious clock on the second floor of the tower to report peace and auspiciousness on holidays. It is reported that the whole renovation work is progressing smoothly and has now entered the capping stage.

On February 25th, 20 14 (Wu Jianian), the maintenance of Jinxianmen Tower in Rongcheng, which has a history of nearly 400 years, began again. Bamboo scaffolding was set up around the tower, the sidewalk tiles around the square were chiseled off, and a temporary wall of colored steel plates was set up around the square to enclose the whole square. A warm reminder was erected at the construction site: "The renovation project of Jinxianmen Tower and Square has begun, so tourists and leisure citizens are requested not to enter the dangerous construction site. Please forgive the inconvenience caused to everyone! "

Reportedly, Jinxianmen Tower and Square have been eroded by wind and rain, aging and so on. In order to better protect cultural relics, we should restore them. The project is mainly divided into two parts. Firstly, the tower is reinforced, including termite removal, cleaning, repair, painting, color painting and gold plating on the plaque according to the traditional technology. Second, repair the gate square, including sidewalks and gardens. The renovation project will be completed at the end of June, lasting about 120 days.

It is reported that Jinxianmen Tower was built in the first year of the apocalypse of the Ming Dynasty (162 1), initiated by Zeng Yingrui, a magistrate of a county, and rebuilt in the thirty-ninth year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1700) and in 2002. Based on Jinxianmen, the tower is east-west, with a height of 20m, a width of19m and a depth of 8m. The main area of the tower is about 166 square meters, and it is a three-story pyramid-shaped roof pavilion. The first floor is a square pavilion with buildings in the north and south, and the walls of the north and south corridors are decorated with living windows. The second and third floors are octagonal, and each floor has red inner columns and eaves columns, surrounded by flower window corridors. The roof is covered with green glazed tiles, and the feet are decorated with wood carving faucets and lotus columns. The tower is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Jieyang, with rigorous structure and magnificent momentum. 1993 was announced as the first batch of cultural relics protection units in Jieyang city on March 5.
