1,: Hong Zhao, born in Dongyang Town, Yuci County in Qing Dynasty (now Yuci District, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province). He was a scholar, but he failed many times, so he switched to medicine and became a doctor in the Qing Dynasty. He was called "Mr. Zhao" in Yuci. Later, he wrote a book, The New Law of Vaccination, which was widely circulated.
