Shaoguan. Nanhua Temple

The first purpose of going to Shaoguan is to see Zhang Jiuling. The second destination is Nanhua Temple. It is said that Nanhua Temple was built in the Southern and Northern Dynasties, formerly known as Baolin Temple. It has been 1500 years since today. Surely you can naturally think of Du Mu's sentence "Spring scenery in the south of the Yangtze River, four hundred and eighty temples in the southern dynasties, how many towers are misty and rainy".

Nanhua Temple is one of 480 temples. Locals will go to Nanhua Temple to punch cards and pray during the Spring Festival. Some people say that blessing is very clever, and if the wish comes true, it will also be fulfilled. People will pray for health, wealth, marriage and procreation. With the blessing of various Buddhas and six ancestors, all their wishes can be realized.

Nanhua Temple is famous because there are six ancestors Huineng actually sitting in the town. He has been dead 1300 years, but his body has not rotted, and there is Nanhua Temple. Huineng, the sixth ancestor, lived in the Tang Dynasty. His father was from Fanyang, Hebei Province, and it happened that Zhang Jiuling's great-grandfather was also from Fanyang.

In Buddhism, there are many examples of monks sitting in meditation and not rotting. Huineng Liudao is famous for its famous saying: Bodhi has no trees, but it is not Taiwan in the mirror. There is nothing there, and there is dust everywhere.

The background of this famous saying comes from Hongren, the fifth ancestor. He asked his disciples to say a few words, that is, to let them tell their own Buddhism. If you give him the mantle, Huineng will get the mantle of the sixth ancestor because of the famous saying above. Inherited the Dongshan method and established the southern Sect of Zen. In the late Tang Dynasty, with the extinction of Buddhism, the Southern Sect of Cao Xi became the mainstream of Buddhism in China.

Huineng, the sixth ancestor, was very famous in the Tang Dynasty. Both Wang Wei and Liu Zongyuan wrote articles praising him. Cao Xueqin in A Dream of Red Mansions also mentioned Huineng's story through Baochai's mouth. Going to the opera Qu Baoyu was rejected by Xiangyun and Daiyu, so he realized that he was bored and realized Zen. He wrote: there is no cloud to prove, but he is based on the environment. Only when Daiyu has no place to stand can she return to Baoyu cleanly. Dispelled Baoyu's Zen.

The once-in-a-lifetime monologue is the reappearance of classic scenes in Huineng's famous sentences. Baoyu is beautiful, Daiyu is wise.

There are red plums at the entrance of Nanhua Temple, and plum blossoms are rare here. Begonia and peach blossoms pour a lot. Into the temple, there are worshippers, Maitreya Buddha and Sakyamuni Buddha.

Bypassing the ancestral hall behind the Hall of Great Heroes, you can see the true body of Huineng, the sixth ancestor. We arrive at the ancestral hall at 5:06 and close at 5:00.

After that, you can swim to Zhuoxi Spring Bath. A long line of people lined up to wash their hands with spring water, saying that they could get rid of diseases and disasters. It is vulgar for us to attend such a blessing ceremony.

In the blessing ceremony, first wash your hands and face with spring water and clap your hands. Some people will say: Oh, money, money goes to my house.

There is a mural of Jiulong wall beside the spring. People who wash their hands will put money or red envelopes in the middle of the murals. There was too much money and it fell into the pool below. The swimming pool is full. Seeing the staff cleaning, too much money is also a burden, like a garbage dump.

After the hand-washing ceremony, we followed a group of believers and heard that there was a drug king's sutra here, which read mindfulness and could cure all diseases, so I took a picture of it and kept it. It might help.

Out of Nanhua Temple, we had dinner outside. It was already dark, and the three of us decided to sleep in the car at night. The air cushion bed exploded, covered with two blankets and squeezed, and the unforgettable trip to South China was over.
