In the sixth year of Tang Wude (623), Changxi County was established (the county was ruled in Ling Wei Temple today, and then moved to Lianjiang), belonging to Quanzhou (the state ruled Fuzhou today). In the 23rd year of Yuan Dynasty (1286), it was promoted to Funing County. In the second year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1369), the state changed to the county, belonging to Fuzhou Prefecture; In the ninth year of Chenghua (1473), Fuzhou was restored. In the 12th year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1734), it was changed to Funing House and added to Xiapu in Guo Fu County.
