Years ‖ childhood memories ~ Silishan Temple Fair

My hometown is Liangshan, Shui Bo, the birthplace of Water Margin. My home is about 20 kilometers away from Liangshan, and it takes a quarter of an hour to drive. Although Liangshan ~ Mountain is not too high, it has a long history and many folk customs have been handed down. Liangshan in Shui Bo is not what it used to be, and the mountains are still there. However, Shui Bo has disappeared, and it has returned to a scenic Dongping Lake.

? My home is near the beautiful Dongping Lake. When I was a child, I often went to the lake to play in the water. I learned all my swimming skills from the lake (bathing in the wild is not recommended). In the north of our home, there is a mountain called Lisishan, formerly known as "Jiliang Mountain", which is located in Daimiao Town on the west bank of Dongping Lake. Therefore, this mountain is full of thorns, hence the name "Jiliangshan", also known as "Liliangshan". After the Song Dynasty, the inspection department was established here and renamed Silishan. There are two huge stones on the top of Li Si Mountain, which are called "Thousand Buddha Cliffs". Although the mountain is small, it has become the earliest religious mountain in northern China since the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Because of the famous peasant uprising in the Northern Song Dynasty, Song Jiang, Zhang Gai, Wu Yong, Liu Tang, Gongsun Sheng, Ruan Shi and others gathered here after "outwitting the birth class". According to legend, it was the granary of Liangshan heroes in those days, and occasionally burnt grain could be dug up on the top of the mountain. (It may also be that people nowadays deliberately do it for the mystery of legends. There is a temple fair on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month, which has a history of thousands of years. It is said to commemorate the story of Liangshan heroes doing justice for heaven.

Most relatives, friends and neighbors go to the temple fair in droves. Most farmers in the countryside also put down their farm work to catch the temple fair. People gathered in four townships and eight towns want to eat, live, buy things and watch the fun, which provides broad business opportunities for temple fairs. Businessmen, craftsmen and Jianghu people came from all directions, including those selling shoes and hats, cloth, lottery tickets, pills, powder and pills, acrobatics, daily groceries, drums and westerns, and folk handicrafts. At the 7-day ancient temple fair, visitors can enjoy circus, fighting sheep, fighting cocks, singing and dancing, clay figurines and folk tricks. The most important thing is that there are many kinds of snacks, such as sour and delicious bean jelly, fried bread with two sides fragrant, and a meat box with a bite of oil, which were all the foods we dreamed of at that time. With the pocket money given by our mother, we queued up in the crowded crowd to buy them.

After eating all kinds of delicious food, my favorite thing is to watch the circus. At that time, the ticket price was too expensive, it seemed to be only 50 cents a piece. There are many thrilling programs, such as flying in a cage, spitting flames and exploring the tiger's mouth. At that time, you can also see many performances of rare animals. Because there is no zoo in the countryside, I am full of curiosity, and I can't figure out why some seemingly terrible animals can understand human language and speak it so complicated.

In short, going to the temple fair as a child is like looking forward to the Chinese New Year, because only in this way will our family put down their work and take us happily to see the excitement of the mountains and play scenes that we can't usually play, just like a carnival. I haven't been back to my hometown for more than 20 years, and I haven't been to the temple fair for more than 20 years. I heard that temple fairs are still so lively now, and so many people still go to parties like festivals. I think some people are chasing the happiness of childhood!
