My hometown Jingzhou-Essay

Speaking of museums, we have to mention three famous views of Jingzhou, namely, Kaiyuan view, Xuanmiao view and Taihui view. Not only Jingzhou, but also the whole country. The first one is Kaiyuan Temple near Jingzhou Museum, which was named after it was built in the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty. In fact, for some reason, it was closed until last year.

The second seat is the mysterious temple on Jingbei Road. This Taoist temple has been renamed many times, and the most famous one should be Nine Old Immortals. In recent years, Jiu Lao Xian has been developed into a tourist attraction and once became the business card of the mysterious temple, but it seems that the mysterious temple has never been opened to the public.

The third Taoist temple is located outside the city, on Taihui Mountain, north of West Gate. Although it is outside the city, it is the most famous Taoist temple. According to legend, this is a palace built here by a prince in the Ming Dynasty. Because it was too luxurious, it overshadowed the palace, and rumors flowed out, which was suspected of rebellion. This one was so scared that he declared that it was just his own palace. Later, it became a blessed place for people to make pilgrimages. Almost every New Year's Eve, people come here to worship, and the incense is flourishing.

These three Taoist temples all have their wonderful stories. They are sold today and will be written in detail later.

Go east along the museum, not far from the intersection, and further east is the direction of the flower terrace. South is Du Ying Road, which extends to the south of Jingjiang levee. To the north is Jingbei Road.

There is a yamen at this intersection. It is said that the cross yamen faces south, so you can't get in without money. But this yamen has two doors, one facing east and the other facing north.

Many years ago, this yamen was not so big. There is a photo studio in the north of it, called Cao Youcao Photo Studio, which was very famous at that time. After all, there were no famous wedding photography shops at that time. Later, after the expansion of this yamen, Cao Youcao's photo studio moved.

Why do I remember this photo studio? That's because I went to this yamen for business many years ago, and I needed a registration photo at that time. I have no choice but to take photos in this photo studio now. After I went there, I found many precious old photos hanging on his wall. So I was impressed. Later, I heard that this photo studio opened several branches, but one shop here seems to have moved to the grain bureau next to Jingbei Road.

Turn a corner on the right and walk a few steps south. This is an institution of higher learning. Its predecessor was Jingzhou Teachers College, which was founded in 1936. The College is located in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, the capital of Chu State, and the hometown of Qu Yuan, a great patriotic poet during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. It was once the place where Ma Rong, a famous politician, writer and educator in the Eastern Han Dynasty, set up an account to give lectures, and it was also the place where Zhang, a famous figure in the Ming Dynasty, studied. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, important activities such as studying in the county palace, offering sacrifices to Confucius, having obtained the provincial examination and welcoming the champion were held here. This is a famous local school.

Later, it was renamed the College of Arts and Sciences of Yangtze University. But people are still used to calling it the old normal school. In the early years, I often went for a walk and basked in the sun. Later, I stopped living in the city and went less.

Further south is the new south gate. As the name implies, the new south gate is a newly opened city gate. Some people say it was opened in eight years, while others say it was opened in nine years. I have also checked various websites about this matter, but I have not found any detailed records about it. But I remember when I was young, I always came to this city from Ximen. I have never heard of the new south gate. So I think this city gate was opened more than 90 years later.
