Jiuyan Bridge occupies an important position in Chengdu, because it has nine bridge holes. The river under the bridge is clear and there is a river bank in the middle. Jiuyan Bridge, formerly known as Hongji Bridge, is also known as Zhenjiang Bridge. It was built in the 21st year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1593) and was built by Yu Yilong, the deployment ambassador at that time. Large arch bridge with stone railing and stone bridge face, length 4, width 3, height 3, and 9 holes below. In the fifty-third year of Qing Qianlong (1788), Governor Li Shijie rebuilt it and renamed it Jiuyanqiao. Qianlong was rebuilt in 55 years (1790). 1988 build a new cross-steel-framed cement precast bridge on the west side of Jiuyan Bridge. It is about 120m long and 25 m wide from the base point of the bridge. There is a car passage across the east and west at the north lower end of the bridge, forming a semi-vertical cross bridge. The ancient Jiuyan Bridge was finally demolished in the winter of 1922.
