(Reading Notes) "Famous Women in Ancient China" Series

Behind every successful man, there is a woman. For Liu Zhuang, the Emperor of the Han Dynasty, this woman is his favorite Ma Huanghou.

This woman, as the daughter of a guilty minister, entered the palace and won the favor of the emperor and empress dowager with her virtuous character.

This woman has a more beautiful face than Luohe, but she doesn't understand the truth of "three points for appearance and seven points for dress". She only wears coarse clothes all her life.

What is even more surprising is that this woman is the mother of a country, but she has never "implemented" any benefits for her family.

This woman is Ma Mingde, the legendary figure in the story of martyrs, and the kindest "queen in cloth" in the eyes of the people in the Eastern Han Dynasty.

In terms of life order and influence on later generations, Ma Huanghou has more reason to give us priority in mourning than the eldest grandson. She not only set an example for the queen to wear cloth, but also left the idiom "traffic", which is an example for all queens to learn.

Although in the history of China, Mingde Ma Huanghou was one of the few sages, but due to insufficient attention to women in ancient China, her name was not recorded in various history books, so people often took her posthumous title "Mingde" as its name.

Ma Mingde was able to enter the palace and become a queen, which was directly related to the death of his father Ma Yuan. Ma Yuan was the founding star of the Eastern Han Dynasty. His famous sayings, such as "husbands should be determined to be strong when they are poor, but they should be strong when they are old" and "men died in the frontier and were buried in their boots when they died" all came from his mouth. But this man has a fatal shortcoming, that is, he is outspoken, which also laid the groundwork for the decline of Ma family and Ma Mingde's entry into the palace.

Jealousy offended Xu's father. But Ma Yuan was honest and didn't do anything illegal, so Song Liang didn't dare to make a move before he died. Later, Ma Yuan died of illness on the way to the war. Song Liang immediately wrote a letter saying that when Ma Yuan was crossing the street, he robbed a car full of folk treasures, which was a heinous crime and should be severely punished.

This is pure framing! Ma Yuan did bring back a load of things after being pacified by Liu Xiu, but it was a load of barley, not a treasure. Unfortunately, Ma Yuan has passed away, and death won't tell us anything. Liu Xiuxin believed it, so he took back Ma Yuan's new breath Hou Yin and forbade him to be buried in his ancestral grave.

The Ma family fell in an instant, and their children changed from "post-heroes" to "post-sinners". In order to turn the tide and save the child's life, Mrs. Ma made a decision: send her daughter to the palace and marry the royal family!

Liu Xiunian and Ma Yuan's contribution during their lifetime agreed to Mrs Ma's request and welcomed Ma Yuan's three daughters into the palace, including Ma Yuan's youngest daughter Ma Mingde. Ma Mingde entered the palace with his sister at the age of 13.

Ma Mingde was first canonized as a crown princess, and later canonized as a queen, which became the focus of national attention.

Ma Mingde is a great beauty. Ma Yuan's "clear hair and picturesque eyes" is very handsome. It seems that Ma Mingde inherited his father's genes. However, history tells us that it is not her looks but her inner qualities that determine Ma Mingde to become a queen.

Ma Mingde/kloc-can do housework at the age of 0/0. At that time, her father had just died, and Mrs. Ma was too sad and insane to deal with family affairs. In order to solve problems for his mother, Xiao Mingde disguised himself as a soldier, commanded the servant girl, treated people and handled everything in good order.

So capable at an early age, Ma Mingde's intelligence is naturally extraordinary. So, shortly after she entered the palace, she was sent to the prince's bedroom by Liu Xiu's wife Yin Lihua.

This prince was the later Emperor Gaozu Liu Zhuang. When Ma Mingde appeared in front of him, he was 23 years old and had seen a lot of makeup in the harem. However, Ma Mingde, who is pure and beautiful and has an extraordinary speech, gave him a feeling of heartache. In order to see her every day, Liu Zhuang even let her live in the back room of her bedroom.

Later, Liu Xiu died, Liu Zhuang succeeded to the throne, and Ma Mingde was made a nobleman. Why did you make her a nobleman instead of a queen? Because Ma Mingde hasn't given birth to a boy and a girl. Liu Zhuang had intended to make her the queen, but she was afraid that her concubine, who was pregnant with the prince, would object, so she kept silent about the queen on the pretext of being a father.

Ma Mingde longed for his son and often cried alone. In order to comfort his lover, Liu Zhuang "sent" the child born by himself and another concubine to Ma Mingde, and comforted her: "People can live without their own children, but they can't support them with love." Not everyone in this world can have children. As long as you raise them with kindness, other people's children will become good children who are filial to you.

Ma Mingde accepted her husband's kindness, adopted the children and raised them carefully. As Liu Zhuang said, her adopted son Liu Wei (Emperor Zhang Han) revered Ma Mingde when he grew up and succeeded to the throne, but neglected his biological mother.

In 60 AD, the father-in-law system of Emperor Han Ming expired, and ministers jointly wrote to establish it.

At least three concubines in the harem gave birth to a prince. Theoretically, they are all more qualified to be queens than childless Ma Mingde. It's a pity that they are not Liu Zhuang's favorite people. Liu Zhuang has only one queen in his heart, and that is his favorite Ma Guiren. However, let Ma Guiren be the queen, and the relatives of other concubines will definitely make trouble. What are we going to do? Liu Zhuang can't sleep because of this.

Empress Yin Lihua stepped forward at the right time. She told her son that Ma Guiren was the queen of Deguan harem. This time, Liu Zhuang had a good reason to be the queen mother. What can outsiders say?

In this way, Ma Mingde successfully boarded the post, only 23 years old. Her adopted son Liu Wei was made Crown Prince.

According to women's nature, with capital in hand, should we pay attention to dressing up? No, Ma Mingde still wears coarse clothes all day.

In the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, disasters were frequent, people's living standards were not high, and few people in Luoyang wore gold and silver. Ma Mingde knew that arrogance could not last long, so he set an example for the royal family or officials. All the concubines were amazed, and they followed Ma Mingde's example and practiced economy, reducing a lot of unnecessary court expenses.

Ma Mingde likes reading and has a wide range of activities. Reading makes people wise. Although Ma Mingde did not interfere in state affairs, she was sensible about the world, which made Liu Zhuang, Emperor of the Han Dynasty, admire her very much.

In 70 AD, Ma Mingde's brother-in-law, Liu Zhuang's half-brother, Liu Ying, attempted to rebel. When the story came to light, Liu Zhuang deposed Liu Ying, and let him move away with his family and muddle along in Anhui. Unexpectedly, Liu Ying was so ashamed that he committed suicide as soon as he arrived in Anhui.

Liu Zhuang believed that Liu Ying's rebellion was bewitched by villains, and ordered an investigation into his henchmen. Anyone who had relations with Liu Ying was implicated. At that time, thousands of officials were imprisoned and exiled because of Liu Ying's rebellion.

Ministers advised Liu Zhuang not to go to such a big prison, but Liu Zhuang wouldn't listen. Ma Huanghou see in the eye in the heart. One day, when Liu Zhuang came to the harem, Ma Huanghou tearfully advised her husband: Since Liu Ying, the king of Chu, died, don't expand the case indefinitely. Seeing his beloved queen's sad face, Liu Zhuang felt great sympathy and ordered the release of people related to the Liu Ying case. Avoid a tragedy that may lead to countless people's wrongful death.

In 75 AD, Emperor Gaozu Liu Zhuang died, and his son Liu Wei succeeded to the throne as emperor, and Ma Mingde was promoted to empress dowager.

In order to express his gratitude to his adoptive mother, Liu Wei wanted to make Ma Mingde's three brothers Hou as soon as he ascended the throne. Ma Mingde politely declined his son's kindness.

The following summer, there was a drought in the Eastern Han Dynasty. These ministers immediately played Zhang Wudi of the Han Dynasty, claiming that the drought was caused by the dissatisfaction of the Ma family. To alleviate the drought, Matthew will close the house later. Emperor Zhang Han knew this was nonsense, but because the proposal to promote his uncle was exactly what he wanted, he planned to adopt it.

However, Ma Mingde was furious when he learned about it, and issued a stern imperial edict to the effect that there was a drought. What does it have to do with whether the Empress Dowager Family was knighted? ! Anyone who wants to make a knighthood for his spouse wants to flatter me and the emperor and profit from it ... The other day, I passed by Zhuolongmen, where my mother's family is located, and saw people from all over the world coming to visit my mother's family in an endless stream, full of traffic and Ma Rulong. All the servants in my family are well dressed and neat. By contrast, I am a servant of the Queen Mother. In order to punish them, I cut the wages of these people, hoping that they would repent. Unexpectedly, they did not repent. Do they want the Eastern Han Dynasty to perish?

Ma Mingde once again declined the reward for the Ma family, and at the same time left an idiom for later generations: transportation.

In 79 AD, in the fourth year of Liu Wei's reign, the world was at peace and the crops were bumper, and finally his uncle was allowed to wait. And Wei Liu's uncle resigned together, only willing to accept the lower position of Shanhaiguan pass. Ma Huanghou summoned his three brothers and advised them not to be too ostentatious and had better not take office. Liu Wei's three uncles resigned from public office and only went home as knights to support the elderly.

Moreover, when Ma Huanghou's mother died, because the tomb was a little high, Ma Huanghou thought it was not ancestral and asked his brother to cut it down quickly.

For the younger generation of the Ma family, they will be rewarded with self-motivation and modesty, and those who bully others will be blamed and punished. In serious cases, they will sever their kinship and be expelled from Beijing. Because Ma Huanghou is very strict with his relatives, other consorts dare not bully others. During Ma Huanghou's lifetime, the Eastern Han Dynasty had a rare period of smooth government decrees, and its national strength became stronger and stronger. In Biography of the Continued Martyrs, Ma Mingde is known as "the teacher of many women in the family and the model of the mother in the family", which is absolutely correct.

In 79 AD, Ma Mingde died of illness in Luoyang, and was buried with her husband, Liu Zhuang, in the Xianjie Mausoleum in Mangshan.

Ma Huanghou is another queen after Yin Lihua, Emperor Guangwu of Han Dynasty.

In 557 AD, Dugujialuo, a beautiful woman in Luoyang, was married with a beautiful vision.

Speaking of Dugugallo, that's the dream marriage partner of countless men. She is not only from a noble family-her father Du is a fu in the Northern Zhou Dynasty, but also a world-famous handsome guy, and she is beautiful, intelligent and knowledgeable. She is a standard official second generation, rich in beauty, but has a crush on the unattractive Sui Wendi.

It is said that before Miss Dugu got married, a fortune teller told her: "Your husband looks like an emperor and will be an emperor in the future." Miss Dugu thought how painful it would be if her husband became emperor and had more wives! So on their wedding night, she made Emperor Wendi swear that she would only love her all her life. Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty vowed happily: "Be gentle and elegant, and swear like a child!"

Although Dugugaro was born in a rich family, she was humble and obedient, supported her in-laws, took care of her husband, educated her children, and helped her husband overcome difficulties in a sinister political environment with her outstanding political talent. In 58 1 year, encouraged by his wife, Emperor Wendi replaced the Northern Zhou Dynasty to establish the Sui Dynasty, which was known as Emperor Wendi in history, and 38-year-old Dugu Jialuo became the queen.

At the beginning of the world, the queen and Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty worked together to govern. She serves her husband carefully every day and often discusses political gains and losses with him. At the same time, her daily life is very frugal and considerate, and she gives preferential treatment to the parents of the DPRK ministers.

She believes that if a person changes his mind and betrays his feelings, he must be unfaithful to the emperor. Such an official is unreliable. Emperor Wen accepted her monogamy, and those officials who took concubines and had children dismounted one after another.

By chance, Wendi Deng cheated on her. The queen was furious when she learned that, and ordered the demon to be killed with a stick. Wendi rode out of the palace alone and ran to the depths of the jungle. Only under the minister's earnest advice did he return to the palace.

Although the couple made up quickly, Dugujialuo, whose beauty is old, is still Deng Wendi's favorite, but this incident has given her a great blow. Three years later, Dugujaro died.

Faced with deep guilt and yearning for his beloved wife, Yang Jian was so proud that she married two beautiful young concubines at once. Who knows that in less than two years, he was seriously ill and there was no cure. At this time, he remembered the iron queen and regretted it: "I can't do this with the queen." And hope that "the soul knows it when it meets the ground."

Without Dugu Galo, Emperor Wendi of Sui might not have been the Taiping Emperor for decades. She is talented but not ambitious. She can do her duty as a woman and wife, love her husband wholeheartedly and support her husband's career. What is more rare is that in the feudal society where men are superior to women, she can personally advocate monogamy, which is the first person in China.

Ma Huanghou has been highly praised by theorists of past dynasties, who have complained about Queen Dugu: on the one hand, they admit that Queen Dugu is opinionated, capable and stubborn; on the other hand, they think that she is arbitrary and fierce as a "female man". These are two types of women, one is gentle and virtuous, and the other is straightforward and resolute. It's hard for you to say which is good and which is not. The key depends on whether the personality of this person and her husband is harmonious and whether they can be of one mind and one mind.

In this respect, Ma Huanghou seems happier. Her husband has always had a good impression on her, and her husband, Emperor Wendi of Sui, has to keep an eye on her all the time to guard against her betrayal. Later, she really made a scene about it, drove her husband away and made him sick.

This is the problem of volume. A person's magnanimity not only affects the success or failure of his career, but also concerns happiness or not.
