Once upon a time, there was an old man named Yang, who was called by his neighbors. Yang has 13 sons, all of whom are both civil and military.

When the Jade Emperor heard this, he was very jealous because he had no son. On the 13th day of the first month, Yan Luowang told the old man that according to the Book of Life and Death, the old man died a son every month, and he died within exactly one year.

Yang Gong said that he had thirteen sons, twelve months a year, and one son died every month, and now there is one left. How can he come back from the dead? As a result, from that day on, Yan Luowang asked Yang Gong to die one son every 28 days, and they all died within one year. These thirteen days are the 13th day of the first month, 11th February, 9th March, 7th April, 5th May, 3rd June, 1st July, 29th July, 27th August, 25th September, 23rd October, 21st November and 19th December of the lunar calendar.

Every day after that, Yang Gong would sacrifice to his son, so later generations called the 13th day of the first month and related days "Yang Gong Sacrifice".
