Macheng is located in the northeast of Hubei Province, at the southern foot of the middle Dabie Mountain at the junction of Hubei, Henan and Anhui provinces, and in the center of the encirclement of Wuhan, Zhengzhou and Hefei. Macheng has a long history. Developed more than 7,000 years ago, it was the land of Chu in the Spring and Autumn Period. It was famous in history because of the Wu Chu War, so it was named Baiju. Qin belongs to Nanjun and Han belongs to Xiling. The post-Zhao general Schleswig-Holstein defended the city in Machu and named it Macheng. In the eighteenth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (AD 598), a county was established, officially named Macheng, which belongs to Huangzhou County and has been attacked repeatedly since the Tang and Song Dynasties. 1986, the county was withdrawn to set up a city, which was managed by Huanggang city, but the financial and administrative examination and approval were independent.

Famous scenic spots include turtle peak rising sun, cypress autumn shadow, Magu fairy cave and so on. The three major reservoirs built after liberation have beautiful lakes and mountains, and the establishment of Wunaoshan National Forest Park attracts people's attention. What's more famous is that Macheng is the location of Xiaogan Township in Macheng, Huguang, the eight holy places for immigrants in the history of China, and the ancestral home of many Sichuanese and Chongqing people.
