Lantau Island is the largest island in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, with an area nearly twice that of Hong Kong Island. Located outside the Pearl River Estuary. Lantau Island is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. Phoenix Mountain, the main peak, is 935 meters above sea level, making it the second highest peak in Hong Kong.
