What does grandma mean?

In Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, people belonging to the Wu dialect family generally call their grandmother grandma in dialect.

In Wenzhou, Zhejiang, generations belong to the Wu family, and grandma is called in the dialect. Most provinces in southern China, such as Jiangxi, Guangxi, Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangnan and some areas in southwest China, are called grandma, but only in person, usually in front of others.

Hakka people in Guangxi also call their father's mother grandmother and their father's father grandfather.
