Brief introduction of old mother temple

Lishan's mother plays an important role in Han folk beliefs. The old mother's palace is the main hall of the old mother's palace. It is located in Lishan Mountain in the south of Lintong District of Xi City, the second peak of Xixiuling. According to the existing "Chuangxiu Mountain Road Monument" in the hall, it was built in Qin Dynasty. Rebuilt in the early Tang Dynasty, it was named Old Mother Temple. The whole building of the Old Mother Palace includes five mountain gates, three immortal halls, five sacrificial halls, five main halls, six wing rooms and four auxiliary halls. Sanxiantang enshrines three immortals, Xiao Yun, Xiao Qiong and Bixiao, who are known as "longevity and good luck". The main hall is dedicated to the golden statue of Lishan's mother (Nuwa). In the eighth year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty, a small building with five rooms and two floors was built behind the main hall (it was destroyed in the Republic of China and the site is still there). In the forty-seventh year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty, the whole building was overhauled, so the existing buildings basically belonged to the pattern of Ming and Qing Dynasties, covering an area of more than 8,000 cubic meters. Although it has been repaired twice after the founding of the People's Republic of China, its original appearance has not changed. In recent years, the Taoist temple has completely renovated the platform and road in front of the old mother's palace, and newly built Shitai Road to enter the palace. There is still an iron pot and an iron jar cast in the 16th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty in the Lingguan Ye Hall in front of the old mother's palace, and there is also a metal gray cast in the Ming Dynasty in front of the old mother's statue. There is a memorial tablet given by Shan Li's mother in the main hall, which was established in the first year of Tang Guangde (AD 763). It tells the story of Li Zhi, a famous Taoist priest in the Tang Dynasty, who met his mother at the foot of Li Mountain and gave her Yin Fu Jing. The old mother temple has been a famous Taoist temple on Mount Li since ancient times. Mother Lishan, that is, Nu Wa, is an ancient god whom I worship in Taoism. Old Mother's Palace is also called Nuwa Palace and Old Mother's Palace. There is a thousand-year-old Gleditsia sinensis tree in the west of the old mother's temple, which is called Bagua Palm Revealing Tree. The present Old Mother's Palace was initiated by the Taoist priest Chen Yuanming. The Tan Zhaoci Charity Foundation in Hong Kong donated some money, and the Taoist Temple raised nearly 10 million yuan for reconstruction.
