Where is the Qinling Mountains?

Qinling Mountain is located in Shaanxi Province. It is about 1600 km long from east to west and tens of kilometers wide from north to south, ranging from two to three hundred kilometers. Living in Gansu, southern Shaanxi and western Henan, a small part of it extends into the northwest of Hubei, showing a "I" shape, with both ends slightly inclined to the north.

The area is about10.2 million square kilometers. This Shanxi is high and low in the east. On the north side of the mountain range are the Loess Plateau and North China Plain, and on the south side are the red bed basins of low hills and Jianghan Plain. ?

It starts from Kunlun in the west, passes through Longnan and southern Shaanxi, and reaches Hubei, Henan and Anhui in the east-Dabie Mountain and Zhangbaling near Bengbu. Its scope includes Longnan, north of Minshan Mountain in southern Shaanxi, south of Taohe River and Weihe River, north of Bailong River, a tributary of Hanjiang River and Jialing River, and east of Funiu Mountain and Xiong 'er Mountain in western Henan.

The mountains in Fangcheng and Nanyang are broken, forming Nanxiangguan, Tongbai Mountain at the junction of Henan and Hubei, Dabie Mountain at the junction of Henan, Hubei and Anhui, and the trend is northwest-southeast, and Huoshan and Jiashan hills in southern Anhui are northeast-southwest.

The Qinling Mountains in a broad sense are the watershed between the Yangtze River and the Yellow River. The southern part of Qinling Mountain belongs to subtropical climate, and the natural conditions are southern type, while the northern part belongs to warm temperate climate and the natural conditions are northern type. There are also significant differences in agricultural production characteristics between the north and the south of Qinling Mountains. The Qinling Mountains suddenly stopped at Nanyang in the west of Henan Province, and then appeared eastward at the junction of Hubei, Henan and Anhui provinces, namely Tongbai Mountain and Dabie Mountain. These mountains are only about 1000- 1500 meters above sea level, slightly northwest-southeast.

To the north of Guangji, Hubei Province, the trend is slightly southwest-northeast, and the mountain is low, generally a low hill with an altitude of about 200-300 meters, such as Zhangbaling. These hills, together with Tongbai Mountain and Dabie Mountain, form an arc mountain range protruding to the south.
