You can burn incense when menstruation comes. The reason for this is the following：

1. First of all, since offering sacrifices to the bodhisattva is bound to show respect for the bodhisattva, the act of burning incense is one of the forms of expressing this respect. Respect for the bodhisattva has always been maintained. You can't show respect just because your period is coming and you feel dirty. It doesn't make sense.

Secondly, we will feel that menstruation is dirty. Burning incense at this time is disrespectful to Bodhisattva. This is a typical test of the belly of a saint with the heart of ordinary people. Bodhisattva has no bad heart. Seeing that all sentient beings are future buddhas is only a temporary confusion and reversal. Once you turn back, you will eventually become a Buddha, and everything will be equal. Bodhisattva is full of compassion for all sentient beings, and will never abandon the filth of all sentient beings and prevent them from expressing their respect;

3. Third, I feel dirty during my period and clean after taking a shower. This view is still our common view. Buddha and Bodhisattva tell us that there is no really clean place in our body from the inside out and from top to bottom, and there are unclean things like pus, feces and saliva everywhere. Our bodies excrete urine every day, but everyone is confused by the thin layer of skin outside. From this point of view, you can burn incense at ordinary times, and of course you can burn incense when you come to your period, because your body is dirty after all.
