Geographical environment of Funing county

Funing county is generally short left hook-shaped in north-south direction; It is high in the west, and gradually low in the southeast, east and northeast.

Funing county belongs to three geomorphic units:

The western part of the county, that is, the area east of the abandoned Yellow River and west of Sheyang-Yangang River, belongs to the Huanghuai Plain, which is a flooded area formed by a large amount of sediment after the Yellow River captured the Huaihe River, covering an area of 843 square kilometers, accounting for 58.5% of the total area of Funing County. The true height of abandoned Yellow River dykes and beaches in the west is 8 ~12m, and gradually decreases to the east.

The northeast of the county seat, that is, the area east of Chuanchang River and Yangang River, is a coastal plain with a real height of 1 ~ 1.5m and an area of 240 square kilometers, accounting for 16.68% of the total area of Funing County.

The south and southwest of the county belong to He Lixia Plain, covering an area of 356 square kilometers, accounting for 24.74% of the total area of Funing County. The true height of the ground is generally 1.5 ~ 2.5 meters, and the Majiadang area at the southwest end is only about 0.8 meters.
