For example, the gossip in the Book of Changes shows the knowledge of time and space in this world, including astronomy, geography and personnel. A student went to work in Australia and brought a China compass. When he arrived in Australia, he wrote to ask how to use this China cultural thing in the southern hemisphere. I thought about it and told him it was the opposite. Therefore, the reverse of what was said in the letter is very correct. I have never been to the southern hemisphere to experience it for myself. Later, I thought the earth was as round as a watermelon. Although it is in the southern hemisphere, the north-south direction is the same as that of China, so I wrote to let him use it at home. He wrote back that according to field experience, it was the other way around. At present, this question is left here for the time being, and there is no final decision yet, but my conclusion should be applicable in both directions, depending on how it is used. In other words, our history of thousands of years is based on the calendar of Yin and Yang. Therefore, thousands of years ago, our astronomical level has improved very high. But after 60 or 70 years, does our university have an astronomy department? In the past, CUHK had an astronomy department. It's a great pity that so many universities don't have an astronomy department now, both in education and culture. Once upon a time, there was a Mr. Gao who could combine western astronomy with China astronomy. I told my students to learn from him quickly, or else they would become extinct. Unfortunately, these students are useless. After several studies, they didn't have this scientific mind and didn't continue their research. Mr. Gao also died a few years ago. I'm really worried that China culture will be cut off. Don't say that there is no astronomy department now. With the department of astronomy, who can really understand China's own astronomy? China astronomy has its own system. This is a very sad and pitiful thing about culture. I often say that once a national culture is broken, it will never turn over.
