Mituo Temple was originally named Pilugang and later renamed Feng Ming Zen Forest. It is one of the important religious activities in Jiangxi Province. Located in Yangzhou Township, Wuning County, at the foot of the mountain, the beautiful and charming melon garden (according to legend, Zhong Sun, the grandfather of Sun Quan in the Eastern Han Dynasty, was named after planting watermelons in the melon garden)-Phoenix Mountain. According to "The Monument to the Ever-burning Lamp", in the 11th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1583), Master Hongnai was released, and the temple was renamed "Watermelon Ancient Temple", later referred to as "Watermelon Temple". 1985, Zhao Puchu, president of the Chinese Buddhist Association, changed the name of the temple to Mituo Temple at the request of the abbot. And personally wrote three plaques: "Mituo Temple", "Mituo Temple Buddha Hall" and "Daxiong Hall".

Over the past 400 years, Mituo Temple has been abolished several times and experienced vicissitudes. During the Cultural Revolution, it was even more unlucky, leaving the ancient temple in ruins.

Master Shi Chuanchuan, abbot of Mituo Temple today (great-grandson of Xu Yun, an old monk, a contemporary Zen master-a descendant of Dong Yunzong in 5 1 year), moved here from Tuolin Temple in Lushan Mountain in 196 1 year. He once lived alone in the deep mountains, forbidden and clean, respected, practiced good deeds, and loved his country and religion.

Mituo Temple is stronger and develops rapidly. Since 199 1 year, many groups of buildings have been built, such as stupa, living room, meditation hall, fasting hall, monk's room, mountain gate, gongde hall, release pool, etc. 1993, the mountain road leading to Mituo Temple, the parking lot and the stone steps from the foot of the mountain to the gate were completed. Master Shi Bentong of Taiwan Province Province donated a copy of Dazheng New Classic worth $20,000.

1995 The Daxiong Hall, which began construction, was completed before the new millennium, and the Temple of the King, the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower have been built one after another. The newly-built Ursa Major Hall is solemn. There are three Buddha statues in the center of the main hall: Sakyamuni Buddha, Pharmacist Buddha and Amitabha Buddha, which are the largest camphor wood sculptures in Jiangxi. They are all covered with gold and solemn as law. There are Guanyin seabirds behind the niche, and there are 500 gold-inlaid arhats on the east and west walls of the main hall. They sit or lie down, ups and downs, realistic shape. After the pilgrimage, they were awe-inspiring.

It is expected that the Buddhist chanting hall, the Buddhist scriptures building, the Haihui Tower, the Yunshui Hall and the abbot room will be built one after another, and the buildings such as Zhaitang, Daliao and Shanmen will also be rebuilt.

In recent years, with its long history and rigorous style of study, it has attracted many monks, laymen and tourists at home and abroad to worship Buddha and visit, and has gradually become a Buddhist Dojo and tourist attraction in Jiangxi Province.
