General situation of the main stream of Huiji River

Suburb of Kaifeng: Huiji River: In the early years of Qingganlong, it was dug to drain waterlogging in Kaifeng. Qianlong six years (174 1), the emperor named Huiji River. The river starts from Shuimen East (now called Jiliangmen) in the southeast corner of Kaifeng City, passes through Dongjiao Township, Nanjiao Township and Wangtun Township, reaches the northeast suburb of Wu Hou Village and enters Kaifeng County, with a total length of 10.4 km and a drainage area of 30 square kilometers. There are Beijiaogou, Huangbian River, Dongjiaogou, Ma Jiahe and Nangan Canal along the way, with a total drainage area of 26 1 km2 and an average annual flow of 3.22 m3/s, which is seriously polluted by urban production and domestic sewage (see 1984 Water Quality Table of Wangtun Bridge Section). Kaifeng County: Huiji River: Huiji River was called Bianhe in ancient times. In the Northern Song Dynasty, it was once the main passage from the Central Plains to the southeast. Since the Ming Dynasty, its flow has been interrupted one by one, and it lasted for six years in Qing Dynasty (174 1). Jartoux, the governor of Henan Province, was ordered to excavate the ancient channel of Bianhe River, with a width of 10 Zhang and a depth of 65438. In the 11th year of Daoguang (184 1), the Yellow River burst in Zhangjiawan, and the Huiji River was silted up again, and shipping was cut off. In the seventh year of Tongzhi (1868), Governor Li Henian was ordered to dredge. After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), Kaifeng County People's Government mobilized people to carry out large-scale control in 1977, and the waterlogging control standard reached once every five years, which benefited the coastal people. Huiji River originates from Huangbian estuary in the suburb of Kaifeng City, flows through Kaifeng City, enters Kaifeng County in the east of Wangtun Village in the suburb, and passes through four townships (towns) such as Xinglong, Banpodian, Chenliu and Qiulou. From Biqiao Village in Qiulou Township to Qixian County. The domestic flow is 29 kilometers long and the basin is 270 square kilometers. There are six tributaries along the way, including Ma Jiahe, Shanghe and Xiahuibei Drainage Canal, Nihe, Zhuanzhang River and Baicigou. The riverbed is 45-52m wide and 3.5m deep, and the dike distance is170m. In Kaifeng, the annual industrial backwater flow is 0.5-3 m3/s, the flood control flow is 183 m3/s, and the flood control flow is 284m3/s. There are 6 medium-sized irrigation stations and 1 sluice/kloc-0 along the way, which can irrigate about 40% of farmland.

Qixian County: Huiji River originates from the source of Huangbian River in the northwest of Kaifeng City. Huiji River was originally an ancient Bianhe River. In the sixth year of Qingganlong (174 1), Jartoux, the governor of Henan Province, excavated and dredged the ancient Bianhe River, and named it Huiji River after its completion. Huiji River is a tributary of Huaihe River, with a total length of 18 1.8km and a drainage area of 4 130km2. The main stream starts from Huangbian estuary in the southeast corner of Kaifeng City, passes through Longhai Railway Bridge, passes through high-rise buildings and Wangtun Bridge to the southeast, and flows into the north of Huiji River estuary in Ma Jiahe in the northeast of Wu Hou Village, with a total length of 10.74km, a drainage area of 177.9 km2, an average flow of 3.22s/m3, a mouth width of 40-44m and a channel depth of 3.5. Huiji River, named after the old Bianhe River was dug in the sixth year of Qing Dynasty (174 1), is also called Shahe. From Biqiao East in Chenliu County (now Kaifeng) to Zhaolou East in Peicundian Township, it has a territory of more than 60 miles. East to Luozhai West, north to Wangzhuang West Main Canal and south to Yuejin Main Canal. Water from the southeast and south bank of Luozhai flows into Huinan main canal (Happiness main canal). Jiaozhai and Zhouzhai in east longitude, southwest of Cimugang, northwest of Baicigou, and north shore. Further east, it passes through Ying Zhuang, Dougui Village, Zhuzhai and Ximatou North, passes through Lan Qi Highway in the northeast of Miao Wei, and then passes through East Wharf, Shatugang, Powu and hou zhuang North to reach the northeast of Tangzhai, and the sediment flows northwest to the north shore. Further east, through Guanzhuangnan, to the north of Dongzhaigou in Guzhuang, to the north bank. Further east, the four ports are southeast, from Hebei, Cuilin, and merged into the north shore. East to Longmenkou in the northwest of Tunzhuang, south bank is the source of Qihe River. Further east, Zhaolou southeast passes through He Ying, Song Wan and Xiewangzhuang, and enters Suixian, with a territory of 3 1 km and a drainage area of 543- 134 1.4 square km. Its tributaries flow abroad: one is Xiaojiang, which flows into the west of Zhecheng County; One is the Cao Mao River, which flows into the east of Dugongji in Suixian County. This river is prosperous in summer and autumn, but it is declining in winter and spring. It can be used for irrigation because of the burden of sewage discharge in Kaifeng City and water diversion from the Yellow River in the upper reaches, but it is seriously polluted and cannot be cultivated, and the water source is uncertain and navigation is impossible.
