What are the three great talents of the Ming Dynasty?

Scholars who appeared in the Ming Dynasty are not scarce in the long history of China. For example, Tang Bohu and Tang Bohu, whom we are familiar with, are known as the four great talents in the south of the Yangtze River, but compared with these three talents in the Ming Dynasty, Tang Bohu is a little eclipsed. Who are these three people? They are Jie Jin, Yang Shen and Xu Wei, three great talents in Ming Dynasty.

The three of them have their own characteristics. For example, Jie Jin was promoted to be the first knowledgeable person, and his erudition can be seen from a book, namely Yongle Dadian. In the imperial examination, he was hand-picked as the first, which is commonly known as the champion. It is difficult to convince the public without some real talent and learning.

Scholars have their own pride, and Yang Shen is no exception. He is honest and fearless of power. He doesn't like Ming Wuzong to play around and ignore political affairs, so he writes directly to protest. Fortunately, Ming Wuzong was generous and didn't deal with him. But when he arrived at Jiajing Emperor, he was banished to Yunnan because of a big etiquette dispute. He stayed in Yunnan for more than 30 years. He has been idle for more than thirty years, so he won the first place in extensive reading.

Xu Wei is even better. He is regarded as the most talented person in the Ming Dynasty. He has made great achievements in poetry, calligraphy, painting and art of war all his life. He himself has this evaluation of himself: my book is the first, poetry is the second, literature is the third, and painting is the fourth. Of course, it's a bit like Chun Xue. Zheng Banqiao and Qi Baishi believe that many people have heard of them. These two couldn't wait to get rid of Xu Wei.

Therefore, it is recognized as three talents among many talents, which shows the Excellence of these three talents. As for why Yang Shen can be called the first of the three gifted scholars, I think firstly, his poems handed down from generation to generation are far more than two, and secondly, the title of number one scholar gives him a lot of points. Jie Jin is the seventh in palace examination, and Xu Wei is not qualified for the palace exam. Finally, through so many poems circulated by Yang Shen, we can find that his poems cover a wide range, so Yang Shen is the first in all aspects.
