Korean military residence in Shiban Street, Hai 'an

The former residence of Mr. Han, a well-known patriotic democrat and two Jiangsu governors in the Republic of China, is located in Shiban Street, Hai 'an County, specifically on the west side of Beilujia Lane, Chengdong Street, Hai 'an County. The villagers call it "Han Mansion".

According to the records in Yong Louis, the North Korean monarch, the people were hungry and cold for three years (1823). Han's grandfather, Han Fengxiang, wanted to help others, but he didn't respond. So he demolished three rooms in his main house and traded them for rice and wheat to help hungry people. At one time, the Korean family was full. After a year of prosperity, Han's father, Han Xipeng, built some halls and houses from the outside to the inside. Tongzhi for two years (1863), his father died and his family came down. The wood of the original house is ready to be built to pay off debts, and the built hall is also used to pay off debts. By the thirty-second year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1906), Mr. Han was 50 years old. When he arrived at a meeting between the General Office of Hebei Mining Bureau and the Negotiation Bureau, he asked for leave to return to Li and rebuild his ancestral home in the old site. His grandfather has been tearing down houses for more than 80 years. According to the Chronicle of Han Jun, the main building of Han's former residence was built on the third day of December, the 31st year of Guangxu, when Han Jun returned from Japan and went to Henan on April 18th, the 31st year of Guangxu.

The former residence, facing south, is a complete four-way house. In front of the gate is the granite slate street donated by the director of Hai 'an Town in the 25th year of Guangxu (1899). The gatehouse facing the street is magnificent, with nine hollow brick carvings, such as "God Bless the People", "The Birthday of Magu" and "Luming Literature Indus", which are full of charm. There are a pair of white rectangular stone drums carved with the patterns of "Eight Immortals in Darkness" and "Playing with a Ball by a Lion" on both sides of the gate, and white marble signs of "Jiangsu Cultural Relics Protection Unit-Joint Anti-Japanese Symposium" (Nantong Municipal People's Government) and "Hai 'an County Museum" (inscribed by the late national famous painter Wang Geyi) are embedded in the left and right side of the gate walls. Across the 2-foot-high threshold, there is a picture of a colored millstone "Three halberds in a bottle" hanging on the floor of the hall. With a hint, I wish my master a successful career and a three-level promotion. Looking up, the woodcarving "Two Dragons Playing Beads" on the extension line of the doorframe braved the smoke, and the plaque "Mr. Han's Former Residence" inscribed by General Zhang Aiping, the former Minister of National Defense and the fourth division commander of the New Fourth Army, hung high above the screen door, glittering. Pushing open the door, a bronze statue of Mr. Han, sculpted by Wang Dao, a Nantong arts and crafts artist, came into view, revealing Mr. Wang's noble spirit of defending against enemy invasion in his brow, which was even more majestic under the shade of pines and cypresses. Behind the statue, a tall brick wall is engraved with a huge brick sculpture "Song He Tu" made by Xu Chunrong, a famous craftsman in Hai 'an. A pair of lifelike cranes stand proudly on the pines, and their exquisite craftsmanship is amazing.

The second door faces east, with a pair of round stone drums, opposite which are carved with "Three Lions Playing with Hydrangea", and the left side of the stone drum base is carved with "Luming Literature phoenix tree" and "Phoenix peony". Above the gatehouse, two "champions" and three "Fu, Lu and Shou" brick carvings decorate the second gatehouse more elegantly. I don't know which craftsman made the exceptionally smooth wall bricks and several seamless brick joints on the wall of the gatehouse, and his skills are admired by future generations.

Standing at the second entrance, looking to the west, the dark green glass window, Chimonanthus praecox, Tianzhu, Five Needles Pine and Taihu Stone are combined into a natural picture of "Three Friends in Cold Years", which is elegant and noble, but it also leads to a hazy poetry and gives people endless reverie. Chen Yi and his wife19401kloc-0/stayed in the West Flower Hall at the kind invitation of Han. Under this window, they expressed the pride of the Eighth Route Army's southward troops and the New Fourth Army, and wrote an inscription for Liu Shaoqi, Huang Kecheng and other comrades, "How many times have you fought in ten years, but no one of your peers has returned to the horse?" Who does Jianghuai belong to today? Red flags fly all over the sky in October.

After entering the second entrance, people suddenly realized that the whole former residence extended from north to south to the left and right of the central axis, forming a four-row residential community of photo studio, main hall, hall and hall. Each residence is a group of poetic buildings connected by arc corridors and penetrated by windows. They are transparent, open, connected, orderly and unified, which not only meets the needs of cowardice, but also reflects the master's refined, elegant, solemn and profound aesthetic taste from the profound architectural culture.

There is an exhibition of Mr. Han's life story in the photo studio, which introduces in detail the life story of Han Jun who started as a scholar, started as a magistrate, took charge of the provincial capital and became a famous patriot respected by the people of the whole city and even the whole country. Among the exhibits, Rugao Popular Newspaper (1915)1June10 published in the 4th year of the Republic of China; Chen Yi and others wrote elegiac couplets for the death of Han; Xinhua Daily (Chongqing Edition) published a message of condolence 31sent by Chiang Kai-shek on February 4th; Han compiled the ancient book series Hailing Congke, which included works of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties 16, and compiled the Records of Wu Wang and Zhang Shicheng through textual research; A collection of letters from celebrities such as Zhang Taiyan, Cai Yuanpei, Huang Yanpei and Zhang Jian. And pictures, words, poems, etc. This shows Han's lofty integrity in the face of Japanese invaders' butcher knives.

Nave, a huge Chinese painting, Chen Yi's Visit to Han Zishi was made by Zhang Huai, former vice president of Nantong Chinese Painting Academy. The couplet "Born believing in his country and dying in Wuxiang Hou" was sealed by the famous calligrapher Zhong Zhen Zi. There are 24 palace lanterns hanging high under the elegant rolling shed and dignified and heavy roof beams. Every time a distinguished guest comes, it will be brightly lit and warm. The hall is furnished with quaint and elegant Ming and Qing furniture, beautifully carved and richly luxurious. On the round table in the middle, there was a basin of boxwood, which was rare in Han dynasty at that time. It is a typical Yang-style bonsai, which won the silver prize in Nantong International Bonsai Competition and was presented to the former residence by Hua, former general manager of Rugao Green Garden. There are four plaques hanging in the hall. One of them is the Qi of Wei Gong, which was inscribed by Yu Youren, Chen and Wu Zhihui, the elders of the Kuomintang, on Han's eightieth birthday. Secondly, the "Spirit of Lu State" was presented by Leng Yu, commander of land and water garrison (deputy governor of Jiangsu Province after the founding of New China) when Han was governor of Jiangsu Province in 1925. Third, "Great Virtue Must Live" Han's eightieth birthday was commended by the World Red Cross; 4. "Learning with Excellence is an official", which was presented by the Korean monarch to Hang Haixuan, a famous doctor in Hai 'an, and later by Mr. Hang Lao to his former residence. The four plaques are creative and subtle, adding luster to the former residence. In the main hall, the couplet "Thousands of years of ancient history is the family law, purple robe and jade belt is the true heaven and man" is the champion of the Qing Dynasty, and the official assistant is Weng Tonghe, a university student and a senior minister of the household department.

The west hall of the main hall is called the West Flower Hall, where Han receives distinguished guests. When Chen Yi led the New Fourth Army to Haian, he was invited to stay here. Although Chen and Han have known each other for a short time, they know each other very well, and there is no waste of time writing papers. During this period, (pseudonym) came to Hai 'an and met with Han Mansion, and the leaders of the New Fourth Army, Liu and Chen, also met in Han Mansion.

Bypass the main screen door and go to the lobby. In front of you is a yard full of osmanthus trees. Every August around the Mid-Autumn Festival, golden osmanthus flowers are in full bloom, and the whole former residence is bathed in the fragrant wind. The hall displays a large number of precious cultural relics such as pottery, stone tools, elk horn and Asian elephant fossils collected from the Neolithic sites of Qingdun and Jijiadun, which represent the long history of Hai 'an. Hai 'an's 5,000-year-old civilization, colorful and romantic history and splendid and magical Qingdun culture are enough to make Hai 'an people proud and make tourists linger.

In the fourth hall, there are usually paintings and calligraphy works collected by the people's government of Hai 'an County from famous painters and painters in various provinces and cities when the former residence is restored. More than 800 members of China Calligraphers and Artists Association above the provincial level were moved by Mr. Han's lofty national integrity. After receiving the letter, they splashed ink and wholeheartedly presented their proud works. Among them are Su Juxian, Shen Roujian, Wang Xuezhong, Liu Wenxi, Xiao Lao, Xiao Xian, Guo Huaruo, Lai Shaoqi, Liu Yi and other famous national painters and painters. Collected the representative works of painters and calligraphers from all provinces and cities in China (including Taiwan Province Province), as well as excellent works of modern calligraphy, seal cutting and Chinese painting. These extremely precious cultural wealth can be called the treasure of Hai 'an County Museum.

The gate of the former residence, Jinsi Hall, is very distinctive. It is not only beautifully made, but also decorated with frosted glass. The lower part of each door is carved with intaglio pictures, or "Mei Zhu Lan Ju", or "Eight Horses", or various flowers and birds, or various landscapes, which make these doors look very elegant and beautiful. On the wall of the cloister connecting the second entrance and the third entrance, the Qing Dynasty Jiaqing Hai 'an Inspection Department inscribed the calligrapher Zhong Zhen's "Three Tans and Ten Scenes of Hai 'an" in four big characters, which is a perfect combination of poetry and books.

Go out from the hexagonal gate on the east side of the main house and enter the fire lane. In front of you, a high wall separates the former residence from its neighbors in the east. The high wall is covered with green leaflets and ivy, and the branches are twisted and green. On the ground, an alley covered with green moss in the cracks of bricks, like a carpet covered with green squares on a blue-gray background, has been paved from the yard in front of the second door to a small train car-like house. It is said that this villa was designed 80 years ago by the fourth son of Han, a Korean who graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of Tongji University in Shanghai. It imitates the internal design of train carriages, which is unique and amazing to the world. Under the western-style roof, there is an ivory arched ceiling with high-quality wood as the partition. All window sashes have three layers: blinds, two eyes and three mirrors, which can be replaced by the owner according to the changes of seasons and weather. The colored tiles on the ground are still bright, solid and smooth. The north room is the living room, and the south room is Han's bedroom. Outside is a corridor with four ceilings, decorated with wooden western patterns and equipped with railings. A pond has been built in the south yard, which extends below the small house, which can not only save Tianshui, but also adjust the indoor temperature. This western-style villa stands out among a group of buildings in the late Qing Dynasty. In addition, it is also a famous "Northern Jiangsu Joint Anti-Japanese Symposium" recorded in the annals of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in Central China.

It was the spring of 1940, when the New Fourth Army advanced behind enemy lines in northern Jiangsu, but the Kuomintang die-hards Han Deqin failed to conquer it. In September, they assembled their troops in an attempt to capture Huangqiao, and war was imminent. At the appeal of Chen Yi, the Northern Jiangsu Command of the New Fourth Army, Han insisted on justice and invited celebrities from eight counties in northern Jiangsu to hold a "joint anti-Japanese forum" in this small villa in mid-September. The meeting adopted a letter to Han Deqin, Li Mingyang, Li Changjiang, Chen Taiyun and Chen Yi, calling on all armed forces to unite against Japan and stop all friction and separatist activities that undermine the war of resistance. The meeting United patriots, strengthened the anti-Japanese forces, and provided favorable conditions for the victory of the New Fourth Army's decisive battle in Huangqiao.

Adjacent to the "meeting place" is the garden of Han Mansion, where flowers and trees are sparse, rocks are rugged and picturesque. Every winter and spring, Chimonanthus praecox, Prunus mume and Bai Mei are in full bloom, and the fragrance is refreshing. Beside the round door with a small tile eaves, bamboo shadows are swaying, which reflects the interest of literati living without bamboo. There are all kinds of bonsai displayed in the garden, such as five needles pine, Podocarpus, red pomegranate, rose, crape myrtle, rice elm and other stumps, which can be described as "the big scene is fascinated and the small scene is painted". A real cypress with a history of more than 200 years is particularly eye-catching. The dragon-like trunk holds up an umbrella-shaped emerald crown, which makes the former residence more quiet and antique. There is a magnificent magnolia tree in the north, with a height of 10 meter and a trunk diameter of 1 0 meter, which has been around for more than 100 years. In early summer, the large bowl of ivory magnolia is full of branches, graceful and noble, and fragrant. Wei Po of Hong once called it "the King of Magnolia". Nantong has designated Magnolia grandiflora as a city tree, and the largest Magnolia grandiflora in Nantong is the Magnolia grandiflora of Haian Han's former residence.

The former residence of Han was funded by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Hai 'an County People's Government in September 1986, and was restored by Hai 'an County Cultural Bureau. /kloc-0 was opened to the outside world in February, 1988, and receives tens of thousands of compatriots, overseas Chinese and people from all walks of life every year. It has become a window for the civilized construction and opening up of Hai 'an.
