Zen forest is one of the most distinctive historical cultures in Yichun, and epoch-making events in Buddhist history, such as "Mazu builds Dojo" and "Baizhang establishes the rules", all took place in Yichun.

Huacheng Temple in Yichun (referred to as "Huacheng Temple" for short) is a combination of two Buddhist temples: the upper rock is called Kaihua Temple and the lower rock is called Huizhaoyuan, which has a history of 1200 years. Zhao, a poet in the Song Dynasty, said in a poem: "Monks live in the morning bell and dusk bell." Huacheng Temple, named "Flower City Night Bell", is one of the "Eight Scenes of Yichun" in ancient Yuanzhou.
