Xunyang City belongs to Ankang City, Shaanxi Province.

Xunyang City is located in the southeast of Shaanxi Province and the east of Ankang City. It is bounded by the watershed between the middle and lower reaches of Xianhe River and Danan River (Yunxi County), and the watershed between the upper reaches of Lvhe River and Lengshui River (Baihe County). From north to south, it is adjacent to Yunxi County in Hubei Province and Baihe County in Shaanxi Province in turn.

Xunyang City is located in Qinba Mountain area, and the Hanjiang River Valley runs through the central part from west to east, which naturally divides the county into two natural areas: north and south. The terrain is high in the north and south and low in the middle. The north-south topographic profile is V-shaped, with an altitude of185-2358.4m. The north of the Hanjiang River belongs to the southern slope of Qinling Mountain, and it is a part of the Qinling sub-belt of the Qinling banded structural belt. Except Wangmang Mountain-Baojia Mountain, all the other mountainous areas are east-west, with high center and low periphery, covering an area of 228 1.7 square kilometers, accounting for 64.2% of the total area of Xunyang City.
