I think it's probably a sign of virus mutation.

Because some viruses themselves have strong variability, and this new virus we originally knew little about, and even in some aspects we were in a blind spot. Therefore, we should have great doubts about the variability of this virus.

Secondly, because the virus is simple in structure, it is either RNA or DNA, which leads to its instability. Many chemical and even physical reasons can cause its gene mutation. Chemistry may be far away from us, but it is not. It is in our life. Whether it is seasoning, snacks or laundry detergent, it contains all kinds of salt, alkali and acid, which may be harmless to human body, but it is very likely to induce viral gene mutation.

At the beginning of the American virus outbreak, the US federal government did not take strong measures to deal with the epidemic, thus creating favorable conditions for the virus to break out more thoroughly and spread more widely, resulting in a huge virus intersection area covering almost the whole country, and the incubation period of COVID-19 virus in different populations is different, as long as 14 days, which gives the virus a very long breeding period. It has been nearly eight months since the day the virus was discovered. During this time, the virus has been able to mutate many times. Even now, there are nearly 2 million patients in the United States, with a cumulative number of more than 6 million. Such a huge population provides a conditional basis for gene mutation, allowing it to divide indefinitely and produce mutant genes.

The basic conditions of time, environment, quantity and virus mutation have been met, so we have no reason to ignore the possibility of virus mutation, because we don't know enough about it, we can't be positive about its mutation, and of course we can't ignore its possibility of mutation.

In my opinion, every country should take the emergence of new viruses seriously and stifle them at an early stage in time to avoid unnecessary losses.
