Why are Buddhists and Bodhisattvas sitting on the lotus?

Buddhas and Bodhisattvas may not all sit on the lotus, but also sit on other objects, and some stand and sit with nothing.

Manjusri Bodhisattva Mount is a green lion with the first immortal mouth, which scares demons with its roar.

The mount of Bodhisattva Samantabhadra is the six-toothed white elephant of the tooth fairy. Six teeth are six paramita-giving, keeping precepts, enduring humiliation, diligence, meditation and wisdom. The six-toothed white elephant represents the spirit of strength, symbolizing "May the merits be widely and completely achieved." Like nature, it symbolizes great strength, perseverance and fearless spirit.

Guanyin Bodhisattva is mounted by Jin Guangxian's golden hair bottle, also known as "Roar to the sky", which is regarded as uploading God's will and releasing people's feelings.

The bodhisattva in Tibet, like a monster shaped like a lion, is called "Listen attentively". Later generations are famous for understanding Buddhism, understanding human nature and avoiding evil spirits, and are regarded as auspicious symbols. One of its uniqueness is that it symbolizes that it can accept the information of the universe, as if it were used as an "antenna"; Secondly, it can play a role in self-protection. Its dog ears listen to the audio of the universe and distinguish between right and wrong of believers. Its dragon body is auspicious, its tiger head is brave, and it will never give in when something happens. Its lion's tail is patient and ambitious, and it is victory to insist on doing anything. Its unicorn foot is regarded as stable, kind to others, live in harmony, and good is treasure.

The three western saints in Elysium are all sitting and carefree; The three western saints who came to welcome all sentient beings to die stood, expressing the meaning that all sentient beings need to receive guidance quickly, and all sentient beings are imminent (there is no time to sit down), and also expressing the meaning of waiting for all sentient beings to arrive.

4. Actually, Buddha and Bodhisattva don't need to sit. He showed what he was sitting on, entirely to meet the needs of all beings. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas themselves don't need any lotus flowers. Lotus is also for all beings to see, to enhance their confidence in seeking and learning Buddha.
