Yu, a native of Yuyao, Zhejiang, is a famous contemporary essayist, cultural scholar, art theorist and cultural historian. He is the author of Cultural Journey, first frost River and Gentleman's Way. His works have been in the forefront of the global Chinese literature rankings for a long time, and Taiwan Province Province of China alone has won a series of major awards, such as Platinum Writer Award, Laureate Writer Award, Scholar's Best Book Award and Jinshitang's Most Influential Book Award.

In recent ten years, he has devoted himself to systematically discussing China's context, China's aesthetics and China's personality by using a lot of investigation and research resources.
