Who knows the story of Renjie in Ningxian County, Qingyang?

Chop Kowloon to control water

According to folklore, before Di went to Ningzhou to become an official, the local people offered a pair of only children and a lot of money to a giant snake entrenched in Ningzhou on the first day of April every year, otherwise the giant snake would make trouble and create disaster. The former Ningzhou state official not only didn't want to get rid of the giant snake, but instead robbed it from the people every year under the banner of offering sacrifices and paying salaries, and even forcibly tied it up to buy the only child of the people.

Di Renjie was determined to get rid of this harmful snake after learning about this situation. In order to be sure, he came up with a clever plan. Di Renjie told the local people in charge of snake sacrifice that this year he would not only continue as usual, but also go to sacrifice himself and prepare to cook a pot of oil. On the first day of April, Di Renjie dressed up to offer sacrifices to snakes. At the time of sacrifice, he ordered people to lift the boiling oil pan to the snake's mouth, and then lured it with two only boys and girls. As a result, the snake got impatient and opened its mouth. Di Renjie seized the opportunity and immediately ordered people to pour boiling oil into the snake hole, and the demon snake was removed. Who knows that this demon snake turned out to be the dragon mother of Ningzhou Chengdong River, with nine sons. Her sons became big men, carrying eight seas of water in Jiujiang, ready to drown Ningzhou and avenge the snake. On this day, Guanyin Bodhisattva passed by and saw the boy, so she used a clever trick to drink most of the water in the Eight Seas of Jiujiang. Then he dedicated the Excalibur Green Bull to Di Renjie, so Di Renjie rode the Green Bull and killed nine dragons with his sword when the dragons were about to be submerged by the flood, and the flood slowly receded. At present, there are many place names in Ningxian County that are related to Di Renjie's killing dragons and insects, such as Longchi, Bapo, Lannigou and Qingniu Hutong.
