Tangshan Museum is located at the east foot of Fenghuang Mountain in downtown Tangshan, in the courtyard of Workers' Cultural Palace. The organization is set up as three departments and one room, namely: exhibition department, storage department, group industry department and office. Prepare 22 people. Tangshan Museum is a local comprehensive museum, which was established at the beginning of 1996 and opened to the public during the large-scale activities organized by the municipal party committee and the municipal government to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Tangshan earthquake. The total construction area is 3670 square meters. Two are special exhibition areas. The museum is equipped with modern facilities, such as exhibition, storage and security.

Since the establishment of the museum, a large number of cultural relics have been collected through investigation, collection and donation. So far, the collection of cultural relics has reached 1300, including 35 first-and second-class precious cultural relics. For example, the "Late Homo sapiens" human bone fossils unearthed from Mengjiaquan site in Yutian about 20,000 years ago; The ancient teeth of Ruoshi unearthed from Zhaocun site in Qian 'an are like ivory, and the bone needles and bone cones used by humans to sew clothes in the late Paleolithic period are more than 40 thousand years ago. "Seven Ghosts" and "Buding" unearthed in Mashao Village, Qian 'an, which are closely related to the solitary bamboo country; The Liao Dynasty white porcelain unearthed in Qian 'an is an exquisite ancient porcelain.

On the occasion of the opening of Tangshan Museum, the basic exhibition "Tangshan Ancient Civilization Exhibition" was grandly launched. The exhibition consists of four parts: stone tools, pottery, bronzes and porcelain, which systematically reveals the historical evolution of Tangshan and shows the great contributions made by Tangshan people in the process of creating history.
