The origin of Jin 'e Mountain
According to historical records, Mei Fu, a famous alchemist in China, abandoned his family for immortality because of Wang Mang's rebellion, and once lived in seclusion in Dameishan, calling himself "Wumengcui". Now the remains are faintly visible. Since then, Baizhang Huaihai and Dameifa, the descendants of the ninth generation of Zen Buddhism, have successively established Jin 'e Temple, Fu Bao Temple and Hu 'an Temple in Jin 'e Mountain and Dameishan, making this area one of the cradles of Zen direct transmission system.
