What are the barriers to knowledge?

Listen more and understand less.

To enjoy the benefits of Buddhism, we should follow the teachings of Buddhism and do practical things. If you do one point, you will have one point experience.

Most mortals have a low eye and a high hand, but they only talk and don't do it. This is especially true for smart people and intellectuals. These people read a lot and have the opportunity to know many people's thoughts and opinions. They are naturally smart and can draw inferences from others, so they speak better than others. However, to check their behavior, they often say one thing and do another. Although they are sure of the educational significance of religion to people in society, they are not religious themselves. They believe that religion is a social phenomenon, but only a psychological phenomenon. But for most people from all walks of life, religion is a good educational tool because it can soothe people's hearts and stabilize society. And they think they have a set of moral standards enough to settle down and do not need the guidance and support of religion. This phenomenon can be called' known obstacle' or' known obstacle'.

"Knowledge barrier" is a preconceived concept, which is blinded by its original knowledge and insight, and then criticizes and denies religion with the framework of this concept, which hinders the moral practice and inner experience of religious belief. They think they are standing in a purely objective position. In fact, insiders are not necessarily objective, and unreasonable comments from outsiders are not necessarily objective. I'm afraid I don't know much, and I think I know everything. Not only do they create obstacles for themselves, but they may also mislead others and become obstacles to religious belief.

Generally speaking, China intellectuals who study liberal arts often have no religious stance. It seems that people who accept individualism tend to think that religious beliefs are not in line with real life, especially for Buddhism. Comparatively speaking, except those who insist on historical materialism, those who study science and engineering are easy to accept religion; Therefore, it cannot be said that people with good knowledge have obstacles in understanding, just like many people who read widely, they will still choose a religion as their lifelong refuge.

In recent years, such an atmosphere has become more and more popular among intellectuals at home and abroad. In the Shurangama Sutra, Ananda said: "Although there are many smells, if you don't practice, you won't smell." People will never be satisfied if they say they eat. "Ananda is the best scholar among many disciples, but he found that he only stayed at the level of" understanding "Buddhism and could not really appreciate the magical use of Buddhism from real life. The Buddha often praised Ananda, because hearing more is the first, so it is also worthy of praise. However, what you know needs practice and experience, and the average person just stays at the level of "knowledge" and "understanding", just like archaeologists investigating ancient cultural relics, but they will not become ancients. Therefore, in order to enjoy the benefits of Buddhism, we still have to follow the teachings of Buddhism and do practical things. If you do one point, you will have one point experience; Otherwise, in the achievement of practice, the doctor of Buddhism may not be as good as illiterate!

Karma Yunnan really listened to Legasa's explanation:

The obstacle to knowing is the obstacle to knowing, and what you know comes from learning and learning, from grasping and separating the world, which is what you know. To really practice Buddhism and seek enlightenment, we must give up everything we have learned and get rid of the obstacles we know. Maybe you will think, if you don't have this knowledge and don't know the difference, how can you survive in the real society? It is true that secular life needs knowledge, common sense, learning, distinction and understanding of good and evil. Based on the secular point of view, the more you know, the more you can survive in the real society. However, from the perspective of the world, the more we know, the more obstacles we know. The harder it is to accept others, the stronger the sense of separation.

Before seeing sex, most people are narrow-minded, especially when they are partial to their relatives and friends. For example, if something happens to their children, parents' first reaction is usually "impossible". My son is kind and filial. It must be somebody else's fault. ""either appease the cheek or offend the cheek. In order to survive, right and wrong, good and evil are often reversed, not to mention the correct standard of good and evil is also the result of analysis and judgment in a certain time and space.

Dazhen Kampo Guru's answer:

There are many known obstacles, mainly persistent three rounds. We can't do anything without three rounds. We regard all three rounds as real, and then insist on it. This is the so-called obstacle. For example, we eat. Eat, you are a wheel, the food you eat is a wheel, and the process of eating is a wheel, not three wheels. We regard all three rounds as reality, and we don't know whether they are virtual or dreamy. For example, we do merit, do charity, be the giver himself, what we give and the process of giving, and do the right thing for giving. This is three rounds. Think of all three rounds as real, I don't know if they are all illusory. This idea is called an obstacle to cognition. Adhering to the law and insisting that the law is true and true is a known obstacle.

We have two kinds of egoism-human egoism and legal egoism. Man's persistence is the basis of trouble obstacles, and law's persistence is the basis of understanding obstacles.

The explanation of Xiruo Duoji laity:

Generally speaking, each of us has different understanding and feelings about the world, so we have formed different individuals and different feelings. Everyone's situation is different because of individual differences. Everyone looks at things with their own knowledge, experience and understanding, but their knowledge, experience and understanding are often narrow, and they cannot look at things completely and objectively. This is the "knowledge barrier" in Buddhism. Think about it carefully, in fact, each of us has some obstacles.

"known barrier" is jn~eya^varan in Sanskrit! Answer: Tibetan is s/es-byah! I sgribs-pa, generally interpreted in Buddhism, refers to: clinging to the proven laws and hindering their truth as fundamental wisdom. It is said in "Theory of Wisdom" that those who know the obstacles will see Sakyamuni's practice method first. See, doubt, ignorance, love and embarrassment (Hu? Hate, anger, anger, slowness, etc. There is nothing to know, but it can hinder Bodhi's knowledge. It can be seen that "known obstacles" correspond to "troublesome obstacles". (Note: Sagaya believes that among the five phenomena of life, there is an unchanging subject of life, which is one of the five views. It fundamentally violates the basic principles of Buddhism.

There are several "trouble obstacles" that usually affect our comprehensive understanding of things: seeing (thinking that what we see must be true), doubt (doubt and doubt caused by asymmetric information), ignorance (not knowing the truth, not knowing the mental state of things or reasons), love (feeling leads to all kinds of love), anxiety (referring to hate, anger and anger) and dullness (arrogance). Because of the trouble barrier, we can't really know the truth of things, which leads to our prejudice, judgment, disapproval, illusion, etc., thus forming our "knowledge barrier". Therefore, cognitive barrier is also called mental retardation and mental retardation.

In order to explain the "knowledge barrier" more clearly, here is a story of a Zen master in the Tang Dynasty. Buddhism, common name Ran, was born in Zhuji, Yuezhou (Zhuji, Zhejiang). When he was a child, he couldn't speak and never stepped on the overpass in front of his house. When I was sixteen, a Zen master came to my family. He prayed to the distant Zen master. When his parents and relatives saw this, they were all surprised by his behavior. At that time, Zhong Hui asked to become a monk. He heard the name of master Huineng, the sixth ancestor, and visited the school nearly eleven years ago. Therefore, in the Zen forest, He, Qingyuan Hangsi, Nanyue Huairang, Shenhui, Yongjia Xuanjue and other four people, also known as the six ancestors and five outstanding figures, together with Shenhui, promoted the Zen style of the six ancestors in the north, criticized Mazu, who expounded that "the normal mind is the Tao" in the south (Jiangxi) at that time, and refuted the style that southern Zen people did not attach importance to classics and talked nonsense, so Buddhist teachers paid special attention to the teaching of Confucian classics on weekdays.

Later, Master Zhong Hui traveled all over the famous mountains and rivers such as Wuling, Luofu, Siming, Tianmu, Baiya, Zige and Wudang, or settled in Panasonic or meditated on rocks. The breeze is bright and the moon is bright, and the rivers are bright during the day, and the body and mind can be melted. During the eleven years of visiting Master Huineng, he entered the Dangzi Valley of Nanyang Baiyashan (Nanyang, Henan) in the seventh year of Zhongzong (690) when he was about 623 years old, and lived there for more than forty years, thus attracting more than a thousand scholars all over the world.

Taibai people said, "I can learn mountains, geography, astronomy, geography, composition, literacy and fortune telling."

The mountain man said, "Just count."

The mountain man replied, "One word."

The mountain man replied: "3721. Who doesn't know? "

(Sanqi can be addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and Master Zhong Hui didn't deliberately explain how to use it, so there are various possibilities. Taibai people guessed that Master Zhong Hui was talking about multiplication, so they fell into the trap of Master Zhong Hui.

From the perspective of Buddhism, most experts and scholars are ignorant. Because they may be good at their own specific disciplines or fields, if we look at the whole nature and human society from the perspective of expertise in specific disciplines or fields, it is bound to be incomplete and biased. So you can't blindly listen to experts, you must have your own judgment. Buddhism provides us with a tool to open our eyes, which is the concept of Buddhism.
