The legend of Zeng spread among the people at the city gate.

In the journey of life, I have met many people and many things, but it is very rare to meet unforgettable people with legendary stories.

Mr. Zeng Fan Xiao, whom I met when I was young, is a legendary old gentleman.

1964 1 month 1973 spring, I worked as an educated youth in Qiyanshan Forest Management Office in Chengkou County.

Qiyan Mountain is the watershed of the north-south water system in the middle of Chengkou County. It's also called flug Stafford Mountain on the map. The main peak is 2500 meters, and the Daliangyakou is 2200 meters.

At the foot of the southern slope of Qiyan Mountain, there is a township called Liaozi People's Commune, and a small river called He Qian flows into Xuanhan County from east to west.

At that time, Mr. Zeng worked in the health center of this commune. He is a Chinese doctor and the director of this health care center.

When I met Mr. Zeng, he was in his fifties, with a little gray hair and beard. He lived a lean life, but he was in good spirits and his eyes were bright.

At that time, as an educated youth, I worked in Qiyan Mountain and lived in Hejiaping on the northern slope of the mountain. From Hejiaping to Liangyuan, there is an uphill slope of nearly 10 mile, and from Liangyuan to Liaozi commune, there is a downhill slope of 30 miles. Although they are far apart, they go down the mountain every month to pick rice, buy daily necessities and preventive drugs, and after a while they get familiar with Ceng Laoshi.

A few years later, there was the story of Mr. Zeng.

These stories will never be forgotten by me.

Once I went down the mountain, I saw Ceng Laoshi reading in front of the door. I looked at it carefully. It is a monograph on the treatment of exogenous fever, and it is Treatise on Febrile Diseases written by Zhang Zhongjing in the Eastern Han Dynasty.

So, I told him about reading.

Mr. Zeng studied hard all his life. He advocates that medical books should be read well, and important medical books should be memorized in order to be used smoothly. I asked him, "Is this book important to Chinese medicine?" He said: "Treatise on Febrile Diseases is a classic work of Chinese medicine. If you can remember the discussion in the book and the clinical prescription, you can use it at will and use it flexibly when practicing medicine, and the effect will be very different. " I said, "This is the second time I have watched you read Treatise on Febrile Diseases. How is your reading? " He handed me the book and said, "Open any page, raise your head and let me recite it." I opened a page in the middle of the book and gave him a head, and he recited it with the content. After a while, this page is almost finished! I was surprised and said, "All right, all right! Appreciate Mr.' s skill! " Reading and studying, I met Ceng Laoshi after seeing this! I have to admire it.

Thirty miles upstream from Liaozi Commune is Taoyuan Commune. There's a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine in Taoyuan Commune Health Center. He doesn't know his pulse, and he always wants to learn from Ceng Laoshi.

One day, I was chatting with Ceng Laoshi. When the doctor came, he respectfully saluted Mr. Zeng, saying that he had a vague pulse and wanted to consult Mr. Zeng. See Mr. Zeng just a thought, on the spot:

The pulse is mysterious and ingenious,

It doesn't mean that people won't pass it on falsely;

Learn the dialectics of distinguishing yellow,

Being a student at dusk is the first!

After Ceng Laoshi finished reading, I saw the doctor blushing and bending down to leave.

Mr. Zeng said, "This man has a bad reputation in Taoyuan. Members gave him eggs and things like that, and he had a good attitude. No, I just like to ignore it. I look down on this kind of person, so I politely refuse him. "

Forty miles south of Liaozi Commune, there is a crow commune. There is a Jiming Temple in this commune. The tea in Jiming Temple is very famous. Legend has it that it was once a tribute to the royal family. County annals have the reputation of "White Crane Well with Water, Jiming Temple with Tea". At that time, the son of Ji Ming Commune was only five or six years old. He often holds his head and says, "My skull hurts!" It often happens and there is no peace. Check the documents everywhere behind my son's back, there is no lesion, but my son cries headache. Later, I heard that the people of Liaozi commune health center had a set of tricks for intractable diseases, and cured many patients, so they took their sons back to Liaozi commune to see Mr. Zeng. Mr. Zeng felt his pulse and was stunned. He said to this document of Ji Ming Commune: "Your son often complains of headache and unsmooth pulse. The ancient medical book says that the pulse is astringent and the headache is dead! Your son is too dangerous! Fortunately, the child is still young and there is a way to save it! "

Mr. Zeng immediately prescribed two prescriptions, one was boiled and the other was fried in white wine, wrapped in the child's navel.

This method took seven days, and on the eighth day, the sick child actually got along well with the neighbor children and had a good time. In less than two weeks, the pastor's child recovered and went home happily.

Soon, the commune secretary sent a bucket of white wine, weighing 20 Jin. There is also an exclamation. This poem is written on a piece of red paper with a brush:

Seek medical help, save your son, travel around the world,

Hanchang He Qian wasted his time;

Who knows that wild geese have thin feet,

Shisa Yi is cute again!

At that time, wine was a scarce commodity with a fixed supply. Every city resident only serves two or two kinds of wine on holidays. Mr. Zeng received 20 Jin of white wine at once, which really made him happy.

Explain here:

Hanchang and He Qian are the names of two local small rivers. "Waste of time" means that people on both sides of the river are wasting their time and doing nothing.

Yan Lu refers to Qiyan Mountain, also called Flagstaff Mountain. As mentioned earlier, that's where I worked in those years.

I met Mr. Zeng, and I still can't forget one thing: I remember one year in early September, I went to Liaozi Commune to pick rice and passed by Mr. Zeng's residence, so I had to rest as usual. It was nearly noon that day, and Mr. Zeng was pouring himself a drink in his room. There are two kinds of snacks to drink on the low table: one is small, with shredded pumpkin and some shredded pork, and the other is crispy peanuts and white salt. He is drinking brown medicinal liquor in a white glass alone. When he saw me coming, he called me to sit down and said, "Today, I'll show you something strange!" " "Say that finish, he went into the back room and took out another bottle of medicinal liquor. This bottle of medicinal liquor is brown, too, but it is lighter than the one on the table. Mr. Zeng used two glasses to pour different shades of medicinal liquor into the cup, only half of which was poured. He held a glass in one hand and said, "I'll show you a strange thing today!" " "Say that finish, he poured the light medicinal liquor into the dark medicinal liquor cup, and saw the medicinal liquor in the cup immediately turned into milky white like milk! I was very surprised at that time, just like seeing magic! Mr. Zeng said: "These two kinds of medicinal liquor, one is to treat five waterlogging and seven injuries, and the other is to remove rheumatism. However, when they are mixed together, they become milky white, like milk, which is a tonic! " I think there is a medicine in the medicinal liquor that I blindly know is a medicine for treating five strains of seven injuries. The name of this medicine is shredded paper.

I was surprised to see this scene. Because I was young at that time and didn't think deeply, I didn't feel any value. It was not until I was transferred to work in the county that I came across something "strange" that I regretted not asking Ceng Laoshi to give me the list of the two kinds of medicinal liquor. I also made them into medicinal liquor, mixed them up and turned them into "milk" for people to drink!

Three years later, I passed the Liaozi Commune again, and I immediately went to see Mr. Zeng. My neighbor told me that Ceng Laoshi has been dead for more than two years!

In this way, when two kinds of brown medicinal liquor with different shades are mixed together, it becomes a "strange" milky white "milk" and an eternal secret.

I have been in contact with Ceng Laoshi for two or three years. I saw his superb medical skills and profound knowledge of ancient Chinese, and I came up with the idea of learning Chinese medicine from him. After listening to my request, Ceng Laoshi took out a book "Four Hundred Flavors of Medicine Songs" and said, "After a week, you recite it, and I will accept you as a disciple." I looked through the books and found that there are 400 kinds of Chinese medicines, each with four sentences, totaling 1600 sentences. I was in my thirties and had a good memory. Open the first page and see ginseng, astragalus, atractylodes macrocephala, poria cocos, licorice and angelica. I read it twice, closed the book and read it to Ceng Laoshi:

Ginseng is sweet and can enhance vitality.

Nourishing stomach, quenching thirst and producing essence.

Astragalus membranaceus is warm, sweating and consolidating exterior,

Qi deficiency is essential for supporting sores and promoting granulation.

Atractylodes macrocephala is warm, invigorating spleen and stomach,

Antidiarrheal, dehumidifying and resolving phlegm.

Poria cocos is light in taste and good at enlightening.

White sputum, red channel.

Licorice; Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch Blend various drugs,

It's warm when baking, and it's purging fire when it's alive.

Angelica sinensis is sweet and warm, promoting blood circulation and nourishing heart,

If you don't help enough, you will lose money.

Reciting the medicinal properties of six kinds of Chinese medicines in one breath, Mr. Wang praised: "A little clever."

I put away the song of four hundred herbs and rushed back to the mountains.

Time flies, seven days a week, and one minute passes. Two days later, I went to see Ceng Laoshi. As soon as he saw Mr. Zeng, he asked, "What's the matter?" It means: Can you recite a medicine song with 400 flavors? I spread out my hands: "I haven't finished reciting." After coming back, I went to the county for a meeting the next day, two days back and forth, and three days in the county. Five days passed like this and there was no time to read. " Mr. Zeng smiled and said, "Xiao Peng, I know you can't recite medicine songs for seven days." He said, "From the moment we started dating, I knew that you were not a fish in my river. I know that sooner or later, you will be the one who eats public meals. " He said that eating public meals is to be a full-time cadre, and it is impossible to learn Chinese medicine from him.

Later, as expected, I had the opportunity to take the county transfer exam, changed my job, worked in the county party Committee office and county government office in Wanxian, and finally retired in Wanzhou District Forestry Science Research Institute.

My later experience fully confirmed Ceng Laoshi's judgment.

Decades have passed, and the past with Mr. Zeng is vivid. Write this down as a memorial to this friend who forgot to make friends.
