Weishi County, which belongs to Kaifeng City, Henan Province, was called Weizhou in ancient times. Located in the eastern plain of Henan Province, it borders Tongxu County and Fugou County in the east, Yanling County and Changge County in the south, Xinzheng County in the west and Kaifeng County and zhongmou county in the north. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it belonged to Chenliu area at first, and was merged into Zhengzhou area in 1952. 1954, the provincial capital was moved from Bianzhi to Zhengzhou, Kaifeng was a special zone, and the Wei family returned to it. 1958, Tongxu and Weishi counties merged and became Weishi County.
