Tianqiao (Chinese version) is a novel written by Mr. Xiong Shiyi in English. 1943 was published in London. This "social satire novel with historical background" takes the rise and fall of the Li family, especially the growth experience of the protagonist Li Datong as the main line, interspersed with a series of major historical events, such as the Reform Movement of 1898, the Huanghuagang Uprising, the Wuchang Uprising, the abdication of the Qing emperor, and the early years of the Republic of China, showing the times of the Qing Dynasty and the social changes in the early years of the Republic of China.

About the author:

Xiong Shiyi (1902- 199 1), a native of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, graduated from the English Department of Beijing Normal University, and was one of the few bilingual writers and dramatists in the history of China literature in the 20th century.
