History of Dongshanling Scenic Area

Dongshanling once had a unique scenery, which was described in the poems of literati in past dynasties. Geologists believe that Dongshan Mountain was formed due to the long-term erosion of seawater. Before 2000, Dongshanling received more than 5,000 tourists every day, and now it receives more than 2,000 tourists every day. This mountain brings considerable income to local finance every year.

Behind these bustling surfaces, other terrible phenomena are also destroying the tranquility of Dongshan. Some people wandering in the mountains force tourists to take pictures, sell fake clams and cheat fortune-telling ... The sheep managed by few people in the scenic spot are also infinite in scenery, and the ground is full of feces, flowers and trees have been eaten up.

Due to the outdated system, poor management and many damages, the scenic spot eventually declined. A cadre of Wanning Municipal Government complained that the management mechanism of Dongshanling was inflexible, poorly managed, with insufficient capital investment, no overall planning, no publicity and promotion, and no brand of "the first mountain in Hainan".

On April 19, 2002, Dongshanling Scenic Area was entrusted to operate as a whole, and Wanning Municipal Government signed a contract with private enterprise Wanning Hongda Trading Co., Ltd. for entrusted operation of state-owned assets.

The system problem that imprisoned the reappearance of Dongshan mountain scenery was broken. Around the Spring Festival this year, Dongshan saw the noise of the past again. But in the noise, regrettable damage traces still exist. Some people object to the new company, while others are worried about HTC.
