Zhaojue Temple, located 5 kilometers north of Chengdu, is known as the "first jungle" in western Sichuan. During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty (627-649), it was changed to a Buddhist temple, and Xuanzong was named "Zhaojue" when he proclaimed the Emperor. During the Song Chongning period (1102-1106), Keqin (Song Gaozong gave Wu Yuan the title of Zen master) said in the temple that his name was restored to Zhaojue. In the early years of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhao Jue changed to Zen Forest. In the seventeenth year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty (1644), it was destroyed by fire.
