Jiaopingdu of Jinsha River in Luquan is a cultural relic protection unit in Yunnan Province and a classic scenic spot of red tourism.

Jiaopingdu is located in Jiaoping Village, Jiaoxi Town, north of Yi and Miao Autonomous County, with mountains and cliffs on both sides. It is one of the main ferries between Yunnan and Sichuan. In order to commemorate the great historical event of the Red Army crossing the Jinsha River and the great achievements of proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation such as Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai and Liu Bocheng, in the middle and late 1980s, the provincial party committee and government listed Jiaopingdu as a base for ethnic education and cultural relics protection in Yunnan Province. 1992, the provincial party Committee and the provincial government invested in the construction of the Red Army Crossing the River Monument and the Red Army Crossing the River Memorial Hall in Jiaopingdu.

The feats of the Red Army 70 years ago left precious wealth to the local people. With the opening of the 42 km highway from Jiaoxi to Jiaoping and the completion of Jiaopingdu Bridge, in recent years, Luquan County and Jiaoxi Town have carried forward the glorious tradition of the Red Army and made a big fuss about developing red tourism. In 2002, the county invested more than 3.6 million yuan, re-planned the rational layout, and built the infrastructure of Jiaopingdu tourist town, which covers an area of 1000 square meters and integrates tourism and revolutionary traditional education. Focusing on the Red Army's Long March Crossing Memorial Hall and Crossing Square, the town has built 30 red tourist boutique routes and one of 1000 red scenic spots on Hong Jun Road and Crossing Road. According to Zhang Jishuai, the head of Jiaoxi Township, with the improvement of service facilities, more and more teams come here for sightseeing, activities and revolutionary traditional education. Jiaopingdu receives tourists170,000 person-times every year.

The Red Army Long March Memorial Hall is located in Huancheng West Road, Huili County. It officially opened in 2009, with a building area of 2,069.57 square meters and an exhibition hall of 800 square meters on the first floor. Hold the "Central Red Army Memorial Exhibition". The exhibition uses illustrated pictures and objects, and adopts a new display mode of scene restoration to reproduce historical scenes such as Jiaoping Ferry and Huili Meeting. It is magnificent, rich in details and truly shocking. On July 20 12, the Commission for Discipline Inspection of Liangshan Prefecture, the Propaganda Department of the State Committee and the State Supervision Bureau identified the Red Army's Long March Memorial Hall as the first batch of clean government education bases in Liangshan Prefecture.
