The fate of Lin Daiyu

When it comes to China's novels, the first thing that comes to my mind are four classical novels, The Ghost Story of Journey to the West, The Raiders of the Three Kingdoms, The Water Margin and Love in a Dream of Red Mansions. For A Dream of Red Mansions, perhaps Cao Xueqin portrayed the characters too "human", and there was no one I particularly liked. But relatively speaking, if I have to rank 1234, I'll choose Sister Lin.

Lin Daiyu used to be a crimson pearl fairy grass beside the Sansheng stone on the Xiling River. Because she was filled with nectar every day by the waiter of Shenying in Chixia Palace, she left the womb of vegetation and became a human being. Later, in order to repay the kindness of the waiter, Lin Daiyu, who was reincarnated as a blood relative of Jia's family, was willing to repay his past dew with all her tears, which is also the reason why Sister Lin in Wen often went.

In this world, Lin Daiyu was supposed to be a child loved by thousands of people, but her mother and father died one after another, and she was also sickly, which led to Lin Daiyu's arrogant and inferior character and contributed to her long-term residence in Jiafu. When Lin Daiyu first entered Jia's house, Cao Xueqin used a long paragraph to describe Lin Daiyu's appearance: her eyebrows were frowning and she looked like she was happy. The state has two sorrows, and it is sick. Tears a little, breath slightly. Laziness shines on the water like a beautiful flower and acts like a weak willow. The heart knows better than the stem, and the disease is not as good as the west. In addition to poems, Jia Baoyu also wrote the unique appearance and temperament of Sister Lin. Jia Baoyu gave a word to Lin Daiyu on the spot: Pinpin. In addition to products, Lin Daiyu also has a name: Princess Xiaoxiang.

"Pinpin" originated from Jia Baoyu, and Princess Xiaoxiang originated from the Grand View Garden Poetry Society. I think these two things can almost sum up Lin Daiyu's life. First of all, Lin Daiyu is a talented woman who doesn't stick to the secular world, but Jia Baoyu happens to be a talented woman who doesn't stick to the secular world. The so-called love of bosom friends probably started like this. After taking care of Jia Baoyu, I began to feel that Jia Baoyu was completely unworthy of Sister Lin. There are many women in the book who have emotional entanglements with Jia Baoyu. Except for xiren, the fate of others is quite difficult, and Lin Daiyu is the most typical one. Forty words later, Gao E continued to write about Lin Daiyu's hemoptysis here and the tragic ending of Jia Baoyu's happy marriage there. I don't like this ending very much. I always feel that the eloquent poet in the Grand View Garden, the patient who taught Xiangling poetry, the person who tragically led to "a clean body is better than being trapped in a ditch", the person who has read so many books, and the person who despises the world's romantic and free-spirited, will not die so easily and sadly. I don't think Lin Daiyu in Cao Xueqin's mind will have such an ending.

Finally, this paper ends with a sentence by Wang Meng, a famous contemporary writer: Lin Daiyu is an ideal, a poem, and she is an emotion in itself, which all computers do not have, and which is difficult for human beings to obtain and dream of. Her love, her jealousy, her paranoia, her entanglement, her fear and her illness show the hearts of many weak people, as well as the hidden and unconscious hearts of many strong people.
