Ceng Zimo: Financial beauties should be able to withstand loneliness.

Ceng Zimo, financial anchor of Phoenix TV.

Born in Beijing, 199 1 was sent to China Renmin University to study international finance. A year later, I went to the United States to study, and studied at Dartmouth University, one of the famous Ivy League schools, majoring in economics, and got my bachelor's degree from 1996. In the same year, he joined Morgan Stanley headquarters as an analyst, engaged in American and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. 1998 returned to Hong Kong, joined Morgan Stanley Asia Branch, and was promoted to manager one year later. At the end of 200 1, he joined Phoenix Satellite TV as the host of financial programs. At present, the columns hosted are financial peers, today's financial talk, and Phoenix broadcast on time.

Knowing that she is Hua Dan, the beautiful and wise financial anchor of Phoenix TV, and knowing that she was once a proud woman who fought in the financial field of the top investment bank on Wall Street in Armani suit, I was a little surprised when Ceng Zimo, dressed in plain and casual clothes, pushed open the door of the cafe and came in. Sure enough, she was on TV. Her face is thin and small, childish like a little girl, and her two big eyes are particularly prominent, which contains an aura that can't be hidden.

Despite her gorgeous background and rising fame, Mozi is kind, easy-going and comfortable like the most ordinary Beijing girl around us. In order to make time for our interview, she postponed the flight, finished this cup of bubble tea in her hand and left in a hurry.

Never deliberately plan your life.

Q: You have an enviable resume. What do you think is the main factor that makes you succeed step by step? Is it natural diligence or your beauty?

Mozi: I feel very lucky. When I was a freshman, I got a scholarship from an American university. It is not easy for me to get a scholarship for my undergraduate course, probably because I did well in the exam and the application materials were well written, and then I was lucky enough to be admitted. Besides, I think family reasons are very important. If my parents hadn't been urging and encouraging me at that time, it might be difficult for me to make up my mind to study abroad. What kind of road a person has taken, those factors you mentioned may be indispensable, and it is hard to say which is the most important. But one thing is very important. I choose to do one thing. As long as I make the decision myself, I will try my best to do it well. Of course, I won't embarrass myself. I always think that you can't make a choice for yourself according to what others think is good or bad. If you are tired of something, you should give it up.

I love new york deeply, but I won't go back to new york.

Q: From Beijing to Dartmouth, then to new york, and then from new york to Hongkong, what do you think of your birthplace Beijing now?

Mozi: I have always liked Beijing very much. Of course, when you come back in spring, you will complain about sandstorms, but because this is home, you will never be disgusted. I used the word "Hui" when I went to Beijing, Hong Kong and America for so many years. It seems difficult to tell where my home is. But in my heart, Beijing will always be a special place. As soon as I got back here, I felt at home.

Q: Is it possible to work or live in new york?

Mozi: Not anymore. If I leave China and go anywhere, I will feel that it is not my home. I especially like new york. It is very prosperous, with many things to see and experience, and the people there are also very colorful. Those two years of crazy work in new york left me with particularly passionate, brilliant and wonderful memories.

However, since 1992 went to new york for the first time, 1996 went to work on Wall Street, and then went to new york at the beginning of this year, except for the loss of the World Trade Center, I found that new york has not changed for so many years. It is a place that has developed to a considerable extent and will not change significantly. The whole of new york is like a perfectly functioning machine, and people who work and live there are like parts. You just need to join in and run with it.

Beijing is changing with each passing day. Here you can experience the fun of participating in creation and create your own miracle.

To be a financial beauty, you must be able to withstand loneliness.

Q: It has been two years since you joined Phoenix TV. Some people say that after Wu Xiaoli and Chen Luyu, the female anchor of Phoenix TV has entered the "Ceng Zimo era". How to treat such an evaluation?

Mozi: This statement is too exaggerated. Accidentally entered Phoenix TV. I never wanted to be a certain type of host or create an era. I just want to do what I like and have a sense of responsibility, because with the development of China's economy, I pay more attention to finance. I hope I can observe and think from my own point of view. The topic of finance and economics may be a bit heavy, giving people a very serious feeling, but doing financial programs must be able to withstand loneliness.

Q: Do you like the title of "financial beauty"?

Mozi: I think it's good to laugh after hearing this sentence. I don't think I'm a big beauty. Of course, I don't feel ugly, but I look more comfortable. Generally, I will accept all compliments from others, but people should have a clear understanding of themselves.

Q: The work of the female anchor is glamorous, dazzling and hard. What do you think is the greatest pleasure and pain in your present job?

Mozi: Let me talk about pain first! The most painful thing is makeup. It is better to do "financial peer-to-peer" now. When doing a program in Hong Kong, I put on makeup for 8 hours every day. I didn't wear makeup before. After using cosmetics, my face was allergic. The more allergic I am, the thicker my makeup is. I don't think I can accept it so far. This is the most painful.

Satisfaction and happiness is to create a work and then get everyone's approval. Some people say that television is an art of regret and cannot be perfect. Every time I finish the program, I will leave a lot of regrets and feel that I can do better next time. It feels good to keep moving in a better direction.

Q: It is said that the main reason why you left Morgan Stanley is that you are too tired and have no passion. Are you satisfied with your current job as a financial anchor? What if one day I lose interest?

Mozi: As a financial presenter, I still have a lot to see and learn, and there is still a lot of novelty at present.

Never thought about it again. If I like it, I will continue to do it. Give up if you don't like it. I am a more casual person, and I have no three-year plan or five-year plan. I think no matter what you do, all your efforts, efforts and efforts are aimed at having a particularly happy and peaceful mind, which is the most important thing.

The Perfect Resume of Leisure Ceng Zimo

Ceng Zimo thinks that she has no long-term plan and likes to do things casually. It was not her own idea to study in the United States at an early age, but her parents urged her to do it. But after so many years, her experience and story have actually made a perfect resume.

From Beijing to Dartmouth —— A homesick girl

199 1 year, Mozi was admitted to the Economics Department of Dartmouth University with excellent results. This university, which was built in 1769 and enjoys the same reputation as Harvard and Yale, is not as colorful and poetic as she imagined, but rather "cold morning", "heavy white fog", "heavy snow", "uninhabited forest", "church bells ringing in the humid and cold air" and the deeply-rooted white culture that makes her feel at a loss.

Mozi, who grew up in a senior intellectual family in China and never left home, felt lonely, confused and struggling. On her first birthday, she looked forward to hearing from her parents. Sitting in the school cafeteria, looking at his father's kind handwriting, Mozi's tears suddenly flowed out. At that time, she was one of the few students who returned to China very frequently. She goes to school in autumn and can't wait to come back at Christmas. She misses everything in Beijing very much.

A year later, the situation gradually improved. Mozi adapted to Dartmouth life and made more friends. Moreover, her grades are outstanding, and mathematics is the first. Looking back on the four years of college, Mozi will feel a little sorry: "I missed a time that should have been very happy."

When the university is about to graduate, all major investment banks in new york come to Ivy League schools to select talents. Mozi and her classmates dream of having an exciting job on Wall Street. So, in order to participate in interviews with different companies again and again, she walked around in the snow in a short skirt, thin stockings and a coat. "At that time, the campus was full of such scenes, and all the people were shivering with cold."

After eight rounds of interviews, twenty or thirty executives finally touched Morgan Stanley with Mozi's story-a China girl who broke into the United States alone, from the beginning she didn't know how to operate an ATM to successfully completing her studies despite many difficulties. "I can be seen by investment banks. First of all, they may think I'm smart, because I did a surprise exam and got good grades, especially in math. In addition, my story also makes them feel that I am very adaptable and learn things quickly. " Many years later, Mozi concluded.

From new york to Hongkong —— Crazy Girls in Investment Banks

When I first joined Morgan Stanley for investment and M&A projects, Mozi thought I would work there all my life. "I like new york so much." Two years in new york is a girl's best age. She has nothing but work. "I still feel crazy about it, but I don't regret it at all."

About half a year, Mozi's rest time adds up to less than three days. She spends almost all her time in the office. She arranged her residence near the company, and it took two or three minutes to walk. After working all night, she went home to take a shower and change clothes, and then went back to work. Once she was on a business trip. On the way to the airport, she saw the window and lights of Fifth Avenue, which felt very good. She hasn't seen you for a long time.

At that time, she often had four or five projects in hand at the same time, and fell into the cycle of "the better she did, the better she did", so she was constantly assigned projects. As an excellent employee, she could choose good projects by herself, so she became more and more tired, but better and better. Better and better, more and more tired. ...

Hard work is hard work, but as an analyst? Analyst position? The only China in the school was accepted and liked by all Americans. Her department followed her example and hired many China people one after another, which made Mozi feel extremely proud. She worked with several American colleagues for a whole year on the merger project between BP and Amoco, which also made her feel satisfied and fulfilled. You know, this is one of the top five merger projects in the world.

Looking back on the "crazy and passionate" work in the past two years, Mozi felt that New Year left a particularly bright and beautiful memory for himself, and more importantly, the experience of working hard in a world-class company left him precious wealth. "When you are young, you will benefit from this experience for life. In that way, constantly challenging yourself in the face of difficulties and learning to deal with it in special crises are particularly helpful for the cultivation of character and the improvement of quality. " Looking back on that experience, Mozi was still satisfied.

From Hong Kong to Phoenix —— A Female Anchor with Ideas

Two years later, in order to be closer to his parents, Mozi, who was homesick, took the initiative to transfer from new york to the Morgan Stanley branch in Hongkong. When Phoenix TV was preparing to go public in Hong Kong, Morgan Stanley and many other big investment companies contacted Phoenix TV, hoping to win the project. As a member of the working group, Mozi had a more comprehensive and higher-level understanding of Phoenix than the audience at that time.

At the same time, she was tired of being an investment banker in Forever on the Road, The Dark Cabin on the Plane and The Strange Room in the Hotel. One day, on the night flight to Singapore for business, she looked through Mianmian's Sugar and suddenly found: "People are alive anyway. Why should I live a life that others think is good? " Mianmian's novels let her see the lifestyles of different people. "What others think is the best, if you don't like it and are unhappy, why do you want to do it?"

After getting off the plane, Mozi resigned and gave himself four months' vacation and wandering time. She went to Tibet first. One day during the holiday, she talked with an executive of Phoenix on the phone about her life experience and "suddenly remembered" whether she could join Phoenix to do her favorite media work. So, a few months later, she turned into the financial anchor seat of Phoenix TV.

"I don't like reading other people's manuscripts very much, but I prefer to do special topics and talk shows because it can reflect my own ideas." Mozi is very grateful to Phoenix TV for giving her an opportunity to give full play to her creativity and talent, and let her personally create her own program "Peer-to-Peer Finance". "Phoenix never kills people's nature, but lets you do it according to your own characteristics and find out the most suitable way for you to do the program. This is the best place for Phoenix. "

With the financial background and unremitting efforts, Mozi and her peers have won the favor of countless picky senior white-collar workers and financial people.
