Chongsheng Temple, located at the southern foot of Xuefeng Phoenix Mountain, was founded in the 11th year of Xian Tong in the Tang Dynasty (870). Its founder was a monk and a village Zen master in the Tang Dynasty. Chongsheng Temple in Minhou, Fujian, about 70 kilometers away from Fuzhou, is the birthplace of Yunmen and Fayan Sect of Zen Buddhism, and is one of the five temples in the south of the Yangtze River, known as "the first jungle in the south of the Yangtze River". 1983, Chongsheng Temple in Xuefeng was listed as the national key Buddhist temple in Han nationality area. It has been renovated and become a famous ancient temple in Minhou County.
