Xinxian dialect is the same as Hong 'an Macheng dialect. Xinxian County is the hinterland of Dabie Mountain. Xinxian county is a veritable "new" county, which consists of Macheng, Hongan and Guangshan counties in Hubei and Henan. The famous soldier Xu is a native of Xinxian County and once belonged to Macheng, Hubei Province. Xinyang is the southern gate of Henan, with the accents of Xinxian, Guangshan and Luoshan close to Hubei, and those of Shangcheng, Gushi and Huaibin close to Anhui. So Xinxian dialect is different from other places in Henan.
