The Shurangama Sutra [1] divides Asura into four life forms: fetus, egg, dampness and transformation, in which the fetus is taken by human beings, dampness is beside the road, and it turns into heaven, and the egg turns into a ghost. There are also "Fahua sentences" saying that there are two kinds of Asura: "Ghost photographers live by the sea; The beast is a photographer and lives at the bottom of the sea. "

Originally, God created charity and other good deeds in his last life, and the wealth in this life can be comparable to that of heaven and man. However, because they used to be jealous of being virtuous and competitive, seven kinds of slowness were basically enough [2]. Because of this bad habit and karma, they felt Asura's approval.

Asura is also very blessed. "Six Breaths Sutra" says: "I have always been flattering and like to fight, and I am the Lord of Shura." Thus, if you have given in the past, you will have a chance to be born as Asura in this life. Therefore, as a practitioner, we must grasp our own mentality. If we are jealous and accumulate blessings at the same time, especially if we are competitive and can't learn Buddhism, it will be easy for us to reincarnate into Asura in the afterlife and often fight with heaven and man.

The root cause of Asura's metempsychosis is jealousy. As I said before, if you can't stand people who are better than yourself and are still worried, this is jealousy. During the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, there was an official named Bai Taiguan, who was one of the eight martial artists at that time. Once, on his way back to his hometown, he happened to meet a child practicing against a big stone. Wherever he went, the fire was everywhere and his kung fu was extraordinary. Bai Taiguan thought, "There are such children in my hometown. Now they are so good at martial arts that they will definitely surpass me when they grow up. " Driven by strong jealousy, he was born with a murderous heart and killed the child with one hand. The child glared at him before he died, gnashing his teeth and saying, "If you kill me, my father will definitely get back at you!" Hearing this, Mr. Bai flew into a rage and realized that he had killed his own son, but it was too late to regret it.

Therefore, if you use jealousy to harm others, you will eventually harm yourself. Shakespeare once said, "beware of jealousy, it is a monster with green eyes!" " "Indeed, once a person is jealous, it is really like being possessed, and many things will not be considered. Therefore, among classmates, colleagues and fellow initiates, if there are competitors, we must observe the words and deeds. Otherwise, jealousy is too strong in this life, and it is easy to reincarnate into Asura in the afterlife.

In heaven, if Asura's power is great, the power of heaven and man will be weakened. In the event of war between the two sides, there will be all kinds of misfortunes in the world, resulting in four major imbalances, natural disasters and man-made disasters. Of course, the strength of the power of heaven and man is also related to whether the world does good. If the world does more good deeds, not only will the world be in good weather and the seasons be auspicious, but also the strength of heaven and man will be enhanced, thus defeating Asura. For example, the book "Thoughts on Power and Law" says: "If people in the world act according to law, people in heaven will win, and Asura's army will retreat and perish."

As a yogi, if you don't want to be reincarnated as Asura, on the one hand, you should think more about the pain of reincarnation, on the other hand, you should not have a belligerent mentality. Some people usually love fighting and weapons, and like watching martial arts novels and movies. This habit is very bad. Becoming a monk should not be like this, otherwise, it is unnecessary for you to shave your head; As a householder, if you do this every day, watching movies, TV or books related to war is harmful to you.

In fact, it is not difficult to be reincarnated as Asura. The Analects of Confucius [3] mentioned that asura King was a poor man in his last life. He lives in a big river department and often crosses the river to cut wood. Because of the deep waves, he was submerged by the river several times, but fortunately he survived. One day, he just provided a lonely sleep. After eating vegetarian food, I threw the bowl into the air and flew away. He was overjoyed and made a silent wish: "I wish I could practice this merit, and the afterlife will be tall and incompetent." Because of this karma, he was later reincarnated as one of the four kings of asura [4].
