The historical background of the poem "Although the country is broken, the mountains and rivers last forever, and the vegetation is spring" is the Anshi Rebellion in the late Tang Xuanzong.

Creation background: In November (755) of Tianbao 14th year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, An Lushan rebelled against the Tang Dynasty. In June of the following year, the rebels were politically connected. Tang Xuanzong fled to Sichuan in a hurry. In July, Prince Hengli succeeded to the throne, and for the sake of Tang Suzong, he changed Yuan to virtue. As soon as she got the news, she settled in Duzhou and went to Su Zongting alone. Unfortunately, she was stopped by the rebels on the way and sent to Chang 'an. Later, because of her humble position, she was not imprisoned. In the spring of the second year from Tang Suzong to Germany (757), she happened to witness the scene of Chang 'an women in the occupied area, and she had mixed feelings, so she wrote this masterpiece.
