The Origin of Shenlong Village in Shangnan, Shaanxi Province

Shenglong Village is located in Jinzhong Mountain, three kilometers south of Fushui Town, Shangnan County. This was once one of the places where Li Zicheng, the leader of the peasant uprising army in the late Ming Dynasty, lived in Shangluo. Jin Zhongshan got its name from a farmer who dug a golden bell jar in the mountains, which was dazzling and spotless. In the southeast of the mountains, the peaks are green, stretching for more than 20 miles. There is a rolling water-rich river on the Shandong side, and the terrain on both sides of the river is open, which can accommodate tens of thousands of military forces. There is a mountain pass to the north of the mountain, which is about ten meters high. The top of the mountain was cut into a platform. According to legend, this is the parade platform of King Chuang. Looking up from the Black Lacquer River in the east, you can see the high cliffs and steep walls of the cottage. The mountain is steep and the main peak is abrupt, like an eagle preying. There is no way to climb on the east, west and south sides. To climb, you have to detour from west to south to a bamboo forest, and then you can climb with grass. The top of the village is surrounded by huge stones, and the house can accommodate thousands of people. There are remnants of stone tablets, stone mills, logs and rolling stones on the left and right wings. Outside the wall, there is a Gu Song, which stands on the peak and stands out from the crowd. The outer circle is hollow and braided. Around the village, a siege of three feet wide and seven feet high was built with pieces of stones, which undulating and winding on the back of the mountain, just like the Great Wall of Zhou Xiaoxiao. Far away, many hills have also been reduced to platforms that can be guarded by different troops, forming a chain with the main village, and the offensive and defensive are clear, which shows that the barriers of the rebels are looming. Li Zicheng (1606—— 1645) was the leader of the peasant uprising army in the late Ming Dynasty, whose real name was Hongji, and he was from Liqianji Village, Mizhi, Shaanxi Province. After Gao Yingxiang died in the ninth year of Chongzhen, he became king. 1 1 year, defeated by Tongguan, only led Liu Zongmin and more than ten people to hide in Shangluo Mountain. In 12 years, Li Zicheng was defeated by Zheng and Du in Shangzhou Army Lingchuan. He went to the east and went to the south, and camped in Jinzhongshan for training and rest. There are general barracks, blacksmith camps, point-to-point platforms and drum platforms around the foot of the mountain, and there are heavy guards from Fushuiguan to Jinzhongshan and Jiuli Thirteen Villages. Here is another anecdote about Wang Chuang's wife and children. "Shangnan County Records" contains: "Shangnan is in the east, and his wife Wang Xing is called the queen, rich in water." It refers to the king and his wife. It is said that there is a rich man named Wang in Wangjialou village at the foot of the mountain. Seeing that the King of Qi was well disciplined and did not harm the people, he betrothed his daughter to Li Zicheng as his wife. It is said that Mrs. Wang is very beautiful, and her hair is dragged from embroidery to the downstairs. The year after Mrs. Wang changed her surname, she gave birth to a son on the mountain. Li Zicheng was so happy that he immediately changed the name of the mountain to "Shenglong Village". "County Records" also said: "There is a dragon in the village, and Li Zicheng pretends to have a son." Later, Li Zicheng led the rebels into Henan, and Mrs. Wang was left behind because of her small children. After a long time, she was very concerned about her husband, so she changed her old embroidered building to "Wang Junlou". The entrance of the building is facing east, looking east by the window, looking forward to the early return of recruiters. A few years later, Mrs. Wang heard that Li Zicheng was defeated and killed, and the child died unfortunately. She was so angry that she hanged herself. The local people felt sorry for the virtuous Mrs. Wang and buried her on the mountain ridge south of Zhaizhai. The burial place was named "Xigong Cliff", and the place name is still there. At the foot of the mountain to the east of Shenglong Village, there are now two big villages, Wangjiazhuang in the north and Wangjialou in the south. There are ten families living in each village. There are still some anecdotes about Li Zicheng and Mrs. Wang. A few years ago, the land was leveled, and in the middle of the lake field, an ancient tomb was dug, which is said to be Wang Fu's tomb. 1982 someone dug medicine in Shenglong Village and found a sword and a string of arrows. Appraised by the cultural relics department, it is believed that this is a relic of the Rebel Army that year, and the "sword" and "cluster" are in the county cultural center. Nowadays, the scenery of Shenglong Village is particularly beautiful. The tung trees are everywhere, the bamboo and green flowers are in full bloom all year round, and the kingfishers compete in spring and summer. The Gu Song outside the village wall is still vigorous and tall. As the symbol of Shenglong Village, you can see it from Fushui Street nine miles away, as if waving to tourists. Tourists come here every year to remember and mourn Li Zicheng.
