Chaoshan area, located in the southeast of Guangdong Province, is one of the five major regions in Guangdong Province. Chaoshan area consists of Shantou City and Shanwei City, with a total area of 10404 square kilometers and a population of more than 5 million. Although Chaoshan area is rich in historical and cultural heritage, its development is not satisfactory.

First of all, the Chaoshan area is relatively remote and has inconvenient transportation. Although there are highways, railways and airports, the construction of these transportation facilities still lags behind other more developed areas. In addition, the Chaoshan area still lacks high-quality education and medical resources, which directly affects people's quality of life and their ability to attract foreign investment.

Secondly, the industrial structure in Chaoshan area is relatively simple, with traditional manufacturing as the mainstay. Although these manufacturing industries have brought a lot of economic growth and employment opportunities to Chaoshan area in the past few decades, they have also made the area highly dependent on export markets. In addition, with the economic transformation of China, these traditional manufacturing industries are facing the challenges of adjustment and transformation.

Finally, the government management and market supervision mechanism in Chaoshan area still need to be improved. Although the government has taken some measures, such as tax reduction and enterprise cost reduction, to stimulate economic growth and attract foreign investment, these measures are still not enough to solve the fundamental problems faced by Chaoshan area.
